Can anyone tell me what aisin locking hub will work for my 93, seems like 91 92 and 93 cruisers are not in the mix, its like they dont exist.

Yup, we've got the AISIN bug. Give us a call if we can help!

AISIN HUB CONTEST 2.webp

What does adding free hubs to a 91 LC look like? Parts kits, Labors hours

Any modifications to the stock front drive shafts?

Do you have any of the red free hubs for a 91 in stock?

Are you converting to part time 4WD?

that is what I was thinking for my 91 LC. I wanted a Highway mode to save on gas. I was hoping to get perhaps 2 mpg but it sounds like that is not a real world result. Real world sounds like 1/2 mpg. Which makes me question the ROI

Dont do for MPG, I noticed very little if any MPG increase

I had a 40 and a 60 which were part time that gave just about the same MPG that my 80s. For what I read is mostly so save wear and tear in the front axle.

For me a big reason for Part Time was to avoid front drive line vib BS

If your front driveline is vibrating, you have a problem. I drive my truck all the time, slow, fast and I get no vibration from the driveline.

I've never understood going part time as a "fix" for driveline vibes. IMO it's just hiding a problem.

Phil,
Does both Suspension lift and body lift create the vibs? I'm looking at starting with a 1" body lift (purchased not installed yet) then perhaps a 2" suspension lift and moving from a 31' to 33' tire when I run though the current tread. Should I skip the suspension lift if this is going to be a daily driver?

Body lifts (not that Im a fan of) does not change drive line geometry. Changes in drive line geometry (lifts) causes vibs.

I made the mistake of changing lots of stuff on my Land Rover (metal umbrella at the ready), after fitting everything, lift kit, ARB lockers, bigger wheels, hardened shafts and anything else you can buy to make a Discovery bullet proof...no, it's true it can be done :p

After all that I had vibes, I had no idea what was causing it, all of the above could have been the answer, even with a DC front prop shaft, turned out a heavy counter weight should have been hanging from the axle housing and was missing........go figure.

Moral of the storey, do all mods where possible, one at a time and then test, or you end up chasing your tail. IMO, geometry is the most common cause of vibes after wheel and tyre problems.

regards

Dave

Kurt, is it correct that you stock the Aisin hubs for the longer birfs for the 95-97 80 series? Are these new stock?
Thank you!
Jan

No, we have red, orange, silver, black and gold for the 79-95 axles but 9/75-1/79 and 95+ will require a spacer (which we will soon have) or modified birfs.
