Thanks! That is the factory blue color, the original paint was so faded that it almost looked silver. The posted picture is before the clear. I will post more pictures when I get it home.

Got it back from paint and started putting lights, emblems, mirrors, etc back on. It was going good until I got to the front grill. I spent a lot of time tweaking things to get it to look right. Aftermarket grill and fenders were ok at best.

Too bad i am heading out of town for a week. i have to bring it back to get the grey paint along the front of the hood. It wasnt on my hood as it had been resprayed, and he didnt know it was supposed to be grey!

Pretty much back together, registered and on the road. I have several things to sort out:

1. driver seat bottom
2. left rear door lock doesnt always open, right side power mirror doesnt work
3. Play in steering
4. Need some window tint
5. Need some better tires
6. mount antenna

New dash and carpet turned out great.

I am thinking about some pin stripes, but I just cant decide on color. My son says it looks good without pin stripes.

That looks so good!!
I think that's my favorite color combo.

Were you happy with your paint guy? At some point I'm going to need to paint my 60.

Thank you. The color and the chrome just scream 80's!! The guy that painted it did a good job. I took it apart and put it back together, so that saves me some money and lets him concentrate on paint. He has painted several things for me, so we are on the same page. Good mutual respect.

Long day doing chasing electrical gremlins. I finally got everything working. Wiper washers, powers windows, locks (including the rear hatch), and mirrors. I put in new speakers and it really doesnt sound too bad with the stock radio. I decided to go with a fixed antenna, as I couldnt justify the cost of getting one. Tomorrow I am going to put the front plastic on the doors and seal them up, hopefully for the last time.

Next week I am going to put on a new steering damper, tint the windows, and check into some tires (31x10.5). I also have a fabric sample coming from SMS to recover the driver seat. They say they have an exact match now. Fingers crossed.

Truck looks great, man!

desmogged?

HI, Very nice, did you paint under the battery box ? I always find this area needing paint from acid spills. Mike

replaced the battery tray with a new one and cleaned/painted under it. I dont recall it being too bad. I had so many oil leaks it was rustproofed from the tranny forward. The PS pump was the biggest leaker.

Also replaced the front fenders.

Beautiful Ernest! Can't wait to see it in person. So did you remove and reinstall all the glass yourself? What rubber did you replace? I will be interested in talking to your paint guys about repainting our '80 at some point and would like to do some of the prep & re installation work myself.
