Hey everyone starting a new build thread here, recently I have really began to accumulate and build 2.5 ton Deuces, I got a crazy idea the other day while pulling parts off of my "parts" Deuce to pull the cab, swap a 12 valve cummins in and set an 86 yota cab on the frame. I already have a 12 valve cummins swapped deuce so I know the procedure however with this build I'll also be swapping the ol spicer transmission for an Eaton 6 speed (no this trans does not have OD and I am aware I can convert but it will do for now) I'll also be keeping the original 2.5 ton transfercase. Once the engine, trans and cab are set I'll be bobbing the rear axle and welding up a nice flatbed. I did think about keeping it 6x6 however I would like it to be SOMEWHAT street friendly 😂 my only concerns are how high this thing may be and the issues I may face fitting this 6BT in a little toyota engine bay!

Sounds like one hell of a project! Google Shaun Whale Dirty 30 for pics of an Australian chopped 60 series cruiser with a flatbed, that body on a deuce frame would be pretty epic! Or even a crew cab chop right behind the back doors!

Sounds like a mini truck to me. I think he posted here thinking it was the 80's section (as in 1980's) instead of -J80.

I, for one, am happy he stumbled along and don't mind if the thread stays

Sounds cool

A 'Yota cab? A mini truck? A 2.5ton 6x6? A 6BT? A 60 series?
I'm sure you know the ride will be s***e if you use that frame for anything.
Where is this going??
Whatever it turns into it will be a hit at Burning Man.
