Hello all

Could someone help me with the color of the wires that hook up to the windshield washer pump? I don't need the headlight washer info just the windshield. We just got the truck and it did not have a bottle on the truck so we ordered one but can't find the 2 wires to hook it up.

Thanks
in advance

Sethro

Should be a plug about 3" from firewall in harness.

On my '87

Four wires-
blue w/ red stripe
blue w/ black stripe
blue w/ white stripe
blue w/ two yellow hash marks

Are you talking about the windshield wiper motor? if so I saw that connection and we are good there but I am talking about the washer motor conector, should have 2 wires

Thanks

I can take a picture of this tomorrow and post it.

Ha, you're right. I have my harness all wrapped up in a bag as I just retaped and re wire covered it all . :hillbilly:

Washer wires should be about a foot down between a big Y in harness.

Blue w/ white stripe
blue solid

The one sticking up the highest-

Ok, thanks, I will try that one, very helpful.
do you know what the little brown connector in the middle of those two is?
? Has 2 wire coming out of it?

Thanks Joe E….Old thread still useful info!…..My truck has no washer reservoir (Vortec, dual batts, snorkel….I guess something had to go….) I'm thinking of removing the bag in the back and putting it under the hood to feed the windshield….Will be looking for that plug soon….

Reviving an old thread, I'm at the tail end of installing my new washer bottle as my BJ60 also came with no washer bottle. Wasn't so bad during the summer but now that winter is here it's a getting pretty brutal. Anyway I have the exact same plug in the posted pic above, I just have a single strand of wire harness but it's the only empty plug and it's right below my washer bottle - so safe to say that it's the same plug. My rookie question is can I just use two male spade connectors on the OEM wire harness plug? Or should I change out the old plug? My first thought is it doesn't matter as long as I get my ground and positive wire in the right connectors in the plug, but I know next to nothing about electrical so looking for some input before I start causing fires

Are you sure you are looking at the location of the windshield washer bottle (near the location of the antenna) and not the headlight washer bottle? But anyway, both the motors for the washer pumps seem to need two wires. One comes from the fused power source and the other goes to the switch on the steering wheel stalk. The circuit is grounded after the stalk. Can you post a picture of the plug and where it is located?

This is right beside the antenna using one of the bolt holes that the oem bottle using. I thought the oem washer pump had the male end of that plug right beside the new bottle, it seemed way to convenient to not be for the pump. It is two wire but I also wasn't sure which one goes to the fuse and the other to the stock or if it mattered how I wired it

So red wire connects with fused power source and black connects with wire going to the stalk?

My apologies I did not specify. I meant the red and black wires from my aftermarket washer jug and pump. The two wires on the oem plug look like a solid blue and blue and white stripe... which one is the ground and which one is the positive I'm not sure I've yet to crawl under my dash to look
