Up for sale is a 1982 BJ42 with 370k km (229k miles). This has a 3B diesel with the typical factory 4 speed and has a 24v electrical system. This rig has been garage kept since I bought it. It is my weekend warrior, drive it at least two days a week and the drive train is very reliable. I have had this cruiser for a little over three years and bought it in Montana and drove it home to California. This rig is registered in California and the tags are current. I do not have to smog it in California. The only work I have done to this cruiser is replace the glow plugs, replace a couple of the pinion seals, install a new vacuum tank, installed a RPM gauge and change the fluids. it has been about 2000 km since last oil change and I haven't had to add more oil.

There are a few items on my short list that I would want to work on. Rebuild the front hubs, install a new brake power booster, replace shocks, adjust and align the doors, replace some weather striping, install a rear door lock and maybe repaint it. It is obvious that there has been some metal work on the tub so there is some wavy spots however the rust seems to be pretty minimal. I really don't see any rust on the frame at all.

It pains me to have to sell this rig. This is a great driver and will miss it. I am selling as I have a few bills that I need to pay. Asking 14K obo.

thanks

If my truck would sell or it were a couple years from now, this would already be sold.

This is a video of a cold start from this morning. it was about 41 degrees when I started the BJ42. The last time this rig was started was on Sunday.

Tried to PM you, wouldn't go through. (Fixed the problem!)

Touch base when you can

Been without a Cruiser too long and I am interested in this one. Can the seller or anyone comment on the right ambulance door lower hinge? That hinge should be bolted to the tub correct? It appears to instead be welded to the top?
Seller, can you please expand on what metal work has been done? Maybe I just can't see it in the pics but I do not see a seam in front of the quarter panel where it becomes the rocker panel. Does this mean it was replaced with one large single piece of metal or ? Have you run a magnet over the tub to see if its all metal or full of bondo? Thanks

Hi, I have ran a magnet all over the tub and have found no sign of bondo. I am not sure about the seam as you mention. The lower ambulance door hinge should be bolted to the tub, not sure why it is not and it was this way when purchased. Forgot the hinge was that way and is in my long term plan to fix.

This BJ42 is no longer for sale at this time. I'll re-list this summer when my work schedule calms down and I have time to properly answer questions. Thank you
