silvercruiser,

I might be interested in riding San Juan before the meet. I just did Holy F'n Jim to Main divide to Trabuco today. Challenging loop. Trails out there are really nice right now.

Off topic, but I saw a white 80 at Cooks Corner with a Surly 1x1 on it's rack we were heading back. Anyone here?

That's a great loop. Has anyone picked a time to meet at the OHV park? Once that is set we can pick a time to ride...might be an early morning but worth it if we can squeeze it in.

Sorry I have been non existent, this weekend has been chaotic. Thanks Boston and clownmidget for posting directions and road conditions. Let's plan on meeting at the parking/bathroom area from 10-1030 not too early for the long distance people and not too late to eat into the evenings activities for those with plans. Half an hour should be good to allow for traffic and motorcycle interference etc...As always anybody speak up with any objections.

Hey Smitty, where is the nearest CFA to south Orange County? Now that I have had some I am starting to jones for more. ;)

no greensticker as those are just for ohv's that are not street legal (ie, buggies, quads, motorcycles) but you should probably be carrying a backcountry adventure pass. these are quite contentious so I won't go into the politics of if and why but the Forest Service does require them. You can get them for a day or a year and the year is a much better deal and the pass is transferrable to other vehicles.

Thanks for passing on that good info on the Ortega. I seem to recall that the Adventure Pass program has finally stopped being enforced. Are they really still checking them? I thought the stupidity of the program finally brought it down. Also for all unfamiliar you take South Main Divide to get to the OHV. As clownmidget said it is well marked and right at the summit and just east of Fire Station 51.

Silvercruiser and emr88 that should give you guys plenty of time to ride the San Juan loop, no?

I've got you down. If I recall correct your dual exhaust would suffer greatly if you wheeled it, hate to see that. :grinpimp: Looks like we are going to have quite a few rigs. Should be good.

We only have two open in the OC right now (3 more over the next 12 months) 1 is at the intersection of Bristol & MacArthur near South Coast Plaza and the other is in Irvine @ the Marketplace at Jamboree & Bryan. We have 15 in Socal now and plan to have 100+ over then next 10 yrs. We are private and can only grow so fast (Quality real estate over Quantity)

Now if I could get all you guys to show up to the So. Cal. TLCA meeting this Sunday (3/5/06, 5:00 pm, Hamburger Express, Westminster and Bolsa Chica), that would really blow everyone away...the power of the wagon!

Rich

Rich,

I really want to come out there with you guys. I enjoyed Calico very much and think that everyone was awesome. I don't think that the :princess: will let me out of her sight on Sunday since that is our only day together (I can't blame her completely I want to spend time with her also). I hope by summers end that she is working at my restaurant so she will see enough of me during the week so I will be able to sneak away for a few hours on the first Sunday of every month (I mean it is only about 5 miles from my house:) ).

Smit

btw I pulled that DS running board so I am good to go now (Lord protect me until I get some sliders!)

Directions off the 405? Do you guys eat dinner there? Details? Enquiring minds want to know.

That makes two of us at least. Rich I am in for sure but I might have to bum a ride with you since I don't have my baby back from the shop yet. What do you say?:D Otherwise I might get shot arriving in a "GASP!" Jeep.

Hamburger Express is toward the beach off of the 405. Going north on the 405 you want to end up going left. The place is on the left just before you get to Bolsa Chica ave. There's a gas station on the corner and you can pull a u at the light if you pass the restaurant. Coming for dinner is a good thing...they make good burgers and have a great combo special. Plus, all family members are welcome...it's a pretty low key club.

Rich

slomo- please put me down as a maybe as I may be on vacation on the east coast. :frown: If so, I hope this isn't the only such meeting- I will definitely end up at one of these.

No worries alaskacruiser, I hope you can make it. :) I am sure this will be a good time and hopefully we can turn it into a regular thing.

Mark, I think TYLER was just kidding. He's a "Cannucklehead", lives in Canada. Although, apparently, we might be able to persuade him with women, suds, and raw fish.:D

Yeah sorry. Would love to join ya'll .. would be just another 1K miles beyond my trip last month to Slees (so 5000 miles R/T:eek: ), but it isn't in the cards anytime soon. :frown:

Keep the beer and fish on ice for me .. and the women hot!

:grinpimp:

The beer is on ice and the sushi chilled. The women asked me to call them 30 min prior to your arrival so let me know.

By the way Henry is a scary man, but in a good way. :D
