I'm in the IE, but drive into the OC every month to meet with an International Scout club in Fullerton. Long drive in a Scout.:crybaby:

I've gotta say, driving the LX into OC would be a whole lot more comfortable.

Count me in!:bounce:

I'm in! Just picked up a 2nd FZJ80 and would love to meet others in the area...please let me know if there's any way to help out. I'm in North Tustin/Santa Ana.

I'm here and live in Riverside, office in Costa Mesa, and currently working on the 241 extension from San Juan Cap to San Clemente.

But also in the last month before #2 kid comes

I'm up for whatever I can squeeze in though. How about a "fun run" at that OHV park off 74 above Elsinore? That got a little of everything, decent cafe nearby, etc.

Mike,

Congrats on #2.

Didn't know there was an OHV off the 74. Soooooo close and I didn't know about it.

Mike,

Congrats on the new little one. We should grab lunch some time since you work in my back yard.

I like the idea of the meet and greet at the OHV area, great place to spend some time talking, eating and do a little wheeling.

80's of OC

I'll meet with the locals. I am also in the City of Orange. I don't post much, but usually am lurking on the board everyday. I'll wait for post with date and location.

Tare,
The area off the 74 (Ortega highway) is called Wildomar OHV. We have gone there a number of times over the years. Not real hard core but some good fun in the dirt. It actually has some campsites also. Other than a few areas where the bushes get thick it's a good spot to wheel and test mods.

Another run plug for all the 80's in and around so cal...So. Cal. TLCA will be out at Calico over the weekend...the more 80's the better. Lots of good trails. We will be camping on Mule Canyon. Look up Calico Road in Yermo on a map search and you can find it. Cheers.

Rich

Man - didn't realize we had so many active OC'ers with 80's.

Thanks mods for leaving this in the 80's section!

I second that!

Sorry for being absent, I was in Phoenix and left my laptop at home and logged in!

Thanks for the idea Mike, and congrats on #2. I am just getting used to having one!

I think the Wildomar OHV sounds like a great place to meet up and do a little light wheeling. Lunch at the Lookout sounds great, but I am worried about parking. Saturdays there are allot of motorcycles and parking is limited as it is.

How about Saturday, March 18th? That should give everyone time to plan.

Option #1- Meet from 1130 to Noon (to allow for stragglers) at Wildomar then do some cruising (pun intended) and eat our own food whenver at the park.

Option #2- Meet at 11am at the Lookout and make parking work or meet at Denny's at the 5 Fwy and Hwy 74 to grab a quick bite to eat and then head out to the OHV (about 30 min away) for some wheeling.

Option #3 - Something else????

I will keep tabs on who is in for sure and which option is the favored one. I know how to get there by sight but it sounds like Rich might be able to give better written directions. How about it? Anyone with any other ideas or thoughts?

I'm out on that date. Up in Death Valley. Don't let that stop this! I'd be there in a heartbeat otherwise.

March 18th is the only Saturday I don't have free in March!

Other than that, Option #1 sounds good to me. I'd love to "cruise" out with the :princess: and meet you guys. What about that Sunday (the 19th)?

How about the last Sat of March? Far enough for me to put a designated pin on it. But the 18th is workable.
Possibly a reminder before the decided meet date to insure we have a good turnout?
I can do either #1 or #2. #3 if it sounds better.
Never been to Wildomar - is it lift or slider free friendly? Still driving a stocker.

I am in the same boat w/ an LX w/ 285's no running boards, no lift, no armor.

I would love to join this run but Saturdays are out for me since my restaurant is too busy. Sundays are great though since we are closed.

Hey smitty,
Ill vote for the Sunday if you open the restaurant for freebies. :D
Just joking of course.

Sounds like Sundays would be better for the masses. No problem here. Ok, how about this? Sunday March 26th, extra week for planning, new day for Restauranteurs, options remain the same. If I recall correctly that should work for most thus far. After talking to the body shop and battling with the insurance company today I might need the extra week to get my 80 back. :censor:

A reminder closer to the date sounds like a good idea, I will keep tabs and shoot that out a week before via Private Messages if no one objects.

It has been a few years for me but as I recall the area is "stock and unarmored" vehicle friendly. Mostly dirt trails of varying steepness with lots of erosion and encroaching sage brush etc... Good for a challenge but not a lot of rocks with an appetite for rocker panels. Rich correct me if I am wrong.

Embarassing, but this thread won't expire or be shut off by then will it. Are we supposed to switch forums? Hey I'm a newbie!

Gimme 72 hrs notice and I'm there. :D

TY

That Sun should work for me.
As for being armored and lifted no bother, it seems Tyler is volunteering his 80 for the meet/run - just give him 72 hours notice and will all take turns on his badass 80 :D .
