Too bad we can't all do this...

You stock FZJ80 guys have lost your minds! This s*** is dangerous! lol. You can't merge, you can't get out of the way. You push the pedal and nothing happens. I have no idea how I lived with this. lol.

After having driven an 80 with the proper amount of power. I can honestly say the person who comes up with a good, well priced, decent solution for repower is going to be very popular.

Ummmmmm.........Isn't that YOU that's helping the rest of us figure out how to do that? But not in THIS thread.....the original one.

Haha no I meant someone that puts together a kit. Either, turbo, supercharger, or plug and play LS swap. The 80 is much more enjoyable with more power.

***Edited. Oh I think you meant in the other turbo thread not my other build thread. Yes I did try to put together all the parts anyone would need. But it was not a bolt in kit. It could be with the addition of the piping but I do not have the capability at this point to put together a few for people to try.

Fully agree! There's no reason we should deprive ourselves of lots more power when the 1fz-fe is built to take it!

I went and visited Page Customs outside of Richmond and they sound very capable and like a very good option for the LX. Some things we talked about:

Welding up all the holes from the plastic cladding
Removing the power antenna and welding up the hole
Removing the rear wiper and welding up the hole
Welding up the holes from the wind deflector
Welding up the holes from the roof rack
- Possibly welding up the sunroof
Removing and replacing the cargo and hatch window
Cutting in Z34 hood vents
Flaring the fenders to match the new wheels and tires
Spraying the whole truck new black

They are at least 2 months back so I will need to get started pulling all the interior out but I have plenty of time.

Some pics from their shop. Very cool location and very laid back feel.

So how far is the weight loss program going to go? Cutting holes out of sheet metal where not needed or just what?

No it probably won't go that far. But loosing the power windows and power locks is probably going to happen.

My goal is still 4500lbs or there about. According to Lexus that is about 470lbs lighter than stock. I did want to pull out and weigh the components as I did it but my current high rise living situation is not ideal for that kind of nonsense. lol.

Nice to see a 356 amongst the American iron. Lots of talented dudes out there but not always so open minded. What you are doing to your LX will definitely need an open mind!

Yeah he was cool, all about flaring the fenders like I want. A little unsure on why I was lowering it and didn't really think I was going to turbo it, but he was cool. I got a very good vibe about the shop. That 356 is really a no expenses spared build. They already have a ton of work into that body.

Show him your build thread on your current LX, he will appreciate where you are coming from right quick

I drove my current LX over there. lol. It was easier to show him what was under the plastic cladding that way. I told him he had about 70 holes to fill and he said that sucked but he could probably do it in about 7-8 hours. So next step is I need to start pulling the interior, roof rack, cladding, rack, ARB, grill, etc and basically when they tell me they are ready, deliver them a truck full of holes!

I already have the weather stripping for the cargo and hatch windows, I will get one for the windshield so they can pull it as well.

Also replacing the side mirrors which are like big dumbo ears... maybe not, but I did buy a replacement but it might look stupid, we will see I guess.

You're soon to be the one and only I'd guess. But I don't know, that type of thing might be big on the Toyota home island...
