Still driving my s***kicker edition....lots and lots has been done to it since my ROTW....including beating the living crap out of it.

Here it is in Death Valley ten days ago. 251K miles on her. Still gets me there and back every time.

**was**. Going a different route in the near future. The 80 will see its last trip on the Dusy this next August. Then it is retired.

I have Peepers old rig. I picked it up from a used car lot in KY early this year. It looked rough when I got but I recognized it from the boards and snatched it up for cheap. The car lot knew nothing about it. Then I sold my other two 80's and went to work on it.

I've since replaced the ARB, added a M15000 w/ Amsteel and in cab controls, installed a safari snorkel, upgraded the stereo, added a CB, added new 17"s/35"s w/ wheel spacers, replaced the steering wheel, rebuilt the knuckles & added Longfields, added poly performance rear axles, installed a DC front driveshaft, new brakes all around, added new Slee belly armor, added Slee HD lower control arms, 3.0 marlin crawl gears, replaced the dual optima batteries, and removed the wood grain and painted the sliders (soon to be replaced). I also replaced some of the scratched up interior pieces. Currently I'm working on a 4x4 labs dual swing rear bumper and wheeling it in East TN.

Sold the 80 cause i thought i wanted a fast car, bought a subaru sti, got like 9 tickets in one year, and so i sold it and im now comfortably driving a 97 lx450. life's good.

Well, I graduated college in May of '08 and then around November of that year, the 80's cats puked their guts into the muffler and blew up the EGR system.

Shortly thereafter, I picked up a Duramax as a DD/tow-rig for my 86 SAS'ed mini-truck. At that point, the 80 was retired as a DD and it sat parked in the weeds until April of last year.

In April of this year, I drug the 80 out of the weeds with its big brother, the '88 FJ62, and pulled it into the driveway. That is where it sits now with 2 flat tires

During its time in the weeds, a 6' black snake decided to make its home inside. That is why all progress stalled in April when I got it into the driveway. I HATE snakes.

The snake seems to be gone now, so I will be ressurecting the truck over the next year or so. It will be getting a new 6.2L GM heart and a complete refresh of the interior

The thought crossed my mind.

I only saw the actual snake once, but found two 6' skins in the cargo area. I get the heebee jeebees just walking near the truck, but I'm tired of the damn thing preventing me from using the truck. I haven't found any new skins in 8 months, so I'm hoping(praying) that it's gone.

I bought Blupaddler's rig back in '09, still looks about the same other than the tires. Did the headgasket and some other PM, other than that it's been bulletproof

I sold my (3FE) 80 and got an '83 and '87 60, bought and sold a '78 45. DD is a polished turd '83 with more rust than Phyllis Diller but with 5 speeds.

I'm jonesing for an FZJ80 in the future.

Still have mine and love her even more than before. I have kept my ROTW thread updated along the way. I have added a lot of miles and a lot of memories in Ms. Jackson and I have even more trips planned. Even though I moved her home to Atlanta from SoCal, she still visits Utah, Arizona, Nevada and Colorado multiple times per year.

She now has 235k miles on her and she has been diagnosed with the same disease shared by her cousin Michael...vitiligo. It has consumed about 40% of her body. I will post pics when she is done with treatment.
