The Norwegian

Hello! My name is Bjorn Erik, from Oslo, Norway. Here's my 80!
1995 HDJ 80 VX (with the 1HD-FT)

Factory locked, manuall tranny, webasto heating, electric engine heater too!

It's my daily driver, weekend trips to skiing resorts and so on!

In the end of June I'm moving to Texas for at least three years. So now I have to find a nice FZJ80 to drive down there! My plan with my HDJ80 (I have to keep it here in Norway - can't sell!) is to putting on intercooler, bigger exhaust - 3", maybe a better turbo, OME coils/koni shocks and some other wheels! But all of that have to wait some years to I come back from my staying in TX.

You see it's my second 80, I regret selling my first, a 94 HDJ 80, intercooled ++. And I was never sadisfied with the HDJ 100, and the avensis, well, a side step!

While at cruise moab, my wife was collecting our first 80 series (good woman).
It's a 94 with factory lockers and lots of miles, and we got a great deal on it.
Although it appears black in the overcast lighting, it is the well known (an proven) dark green.

I'm a bit of a petrol head - so an 80 was something I really wanted. Shopped around for quite a while and then came across this one. With 8 "careful" previous owners! It had been written off twice (co-incidentally its fourth owner was a friend of mine) and was used for pulling tree stumps out of the ground, transporting livestock (and hunting ... deadstock?). I've had it for 8 months, done quite a bit of work to it and added a few toys.

I purchased this the middle of March while I was home on R&R from Afghanistan, got to drive it once then went back. Upon returning I have been working on baselining. Overall its in pretty good shape. The front bumper was damaged by the PO, but I have a new ARB sitting in the garage. I want to complete baselining first.

Well been a toyota fan ever since my 85 4runner, tough truck. But between a 92 civic and the 4runner I could almost get by, needed more vehicle. So as things have it, I HAD TO buy a fj80. As i did my homework for my 4runner before I bought it, I did the same for the LC. I dont belive in a IFS on a 4WD unless its a Subaru. The 1994 LC fit my needs all to perfect. Now I have a problem though, 4runners not done....LC is stock. WTF do I do. Finish or start??? Either way couldn't be happier with my purchase, which buy the way was only $2850 turn key drove it 6 hours home, perfect. I love craigslist!

Found this rig on craigslist last week. It was posted for $3750... then it got ugly. People from all over were calling about it. The seller's phone would not stop ringing with offers, car unseen. It's in great shape. Paint is the best I've seen locally. Interior is rough and the stereo is stolen, but the front seat is not ripped open. It already has a lift, not sure which one.

Rims are the first to go!
