Why not include all the bulbs that typically burn out like in the dash, the shifter, overhead gauges etc.

I would love to do that! If there is enough interest then I will! I know that those parts that you mentioned that "burn out" require soldering to replace?

For now, I will keep the direct replacement lighting options that I have listed! If enough people ask about components that you mentioned earlier, I will definitely put something together at the same low price that I strive to provide!

Keep the suggestions coming:)

Some require soldering i guess but im talking about the ones that can just be popped in place of the factory ones. The just get screwed in. There is a big thread on here about them. Looking forward to your kit.

Great timing, as I was completely baffled navigating one of the major online sources out there for the correct combination of bulbs. I would be interested in Option 2, as I have an extra dome light, and will be adding additional courtesy lamps to the rear hatch for camping purposes.

I too am in the 408 area code, so if you need an 80 to be a Guinea Pig, just let me know.

Steve

Hey Steve, let me know when you can meetup! I will need to see the front map lights! I'll shoot you a pm tmrw after I fix my schedule for the rest of the week:D

What type od SMD LEDs do you use? The 5050?
Can I have a link to photos of any of these products? No necessarily for the 80

I did not know there were different types of SMD's:bang: I need to contact my supplier! But I will post pics of the samples tmrw, they are currently sitting at the post office because they require delivery confirmation:mad: Stay tuned, hoping to pick them up tomorrow after school!:steer:

LJ_24, please post pics of the improved lighting! I guarantee you will sell a lot more.

Im looking forward to this kit! It looks like an easy solution for those like me that have trouble finding all the right replacement units for our trucks. A comprehensive set of LED bulbs that don't look blue and are plug and pay is an easy way to improve our rigs.

I am posting pictures by the end of this week as soon as I can meetup with CycloSteve! Or maybe I can install the dome lights in my hundy if you guys dont mind:hhmm:

Put me down for a Kit 1 if this all comes to fruition.

Thanks.

I would be interested in replacement dash lights as well, I have a few buttons that don't light up anymore. Nice looking bumper on your 100 btw.

By dash lights, do you mean the gauge cluster with the speedo and mileage? Or the center instrument cluster? Sorry, I jus want to make sure what I am looking for because I know these words have been interchanger many times before.

Also, what color would everyone be interested in?

Howdy! I would probably be interested in Kit #1. Thanks, John
Added to the list:D

Could you put me down for Kit#1 as well, please. I'm happy to pay the difference in shipping, of course.

I will add you to the list then see what I can do about shipping it! I'm not exactly sure how I will ship it to you! Will do my best :)

Yes, there are different kinds of different brihtness. As far as I remember the 5050 SMD's are the brigtest. So you can put fewer LED's, you lave less work to do and people get more light.

Are you going to use a current-regulating circuit or resistors?

AFAIK, I was told by my supplier that the dome lights have a built in current limiting resistor to serve as protection from reverse polarity. Which I was told is switching positive and negative.

Hope this helps:cheers:

Sure thing! I see and FJ60 in your avatar, I know there are dome lights, but are there map lights an FJ60 as well? Do you mind taking pictures of all the bulbs exposed while in their respectable locations? Reason I am asking is because I am considering putting together an LED kit for the 60 also! If you help me with this I will pay for your shipping if you buy a kit for the 60 and 80;)

Absolutely :D

I'll offer this one caveat though, mine is an HJ60 rather than an FJ60/62. There is a slim chance that there are some slight differences. There are definitely going to be differences in the LEDs needed as the HJ is a 24v vehicle but that is very unlikely to be the case in any US vehicles but could crop up for Canadians.
