There was a lot of debate at the time, some politicians wanted to outlaw ALL bullbars.
Didn't matter that they save lives in animal strikes.

I don't think anyone is blaming you, just scratching our collective heads over it. Politicians have gotta do something to keep busy so they don't have to do anything useful I guess.
Still, I'm trying to picture the scenario where that bumper is going to push the hypothetical pedestrian under the vehicle, but they wouldn't be equally dead with a stock bumper. Call me crazy, but I'm thinking the best way to avoid killing pedestrians is... stick with me on this guys... not hitting pedestrians with your vehicle. It's a radical solution, I know, but I really think it could work.
It's not the sort of thing I'd run for my purposes, but I like it. Much better looking than the ARB in my opinion. Probably the one to have if you hit an elk at 70!
Honestly, it seems more of a question of open or closed casket.You can't be deader than dead, but if there's a slim chance that someone is struck and bounces clear vs getting dragged under or pinned under a car because it's been modified, maybe it's a better prospect.

Australia's road toll is something like 1-2000 annually killed in motor vehicle accidents. That includes pedestrians, single vehicle accidents etc
There's been times when groups have lobbied to have SUVs banned from being within city limits after a series of toddlers being run over and killed in their own driveway by parents. Coz, you know, toddlers don't live outside of city limits . . .
