can anyone help me ID this thing? is this OEM? is it modified OEM? i've got a 97 LX 450 and i am just trying to figure out if it would fit and then also if i could actually get a winch behind it or something. i guess i would have to fabricate something to hold the winch? thoughts?

or does JDM mean it is like a Japan only vehicle? sorry just trying to get caught up here and JDM has always confused me for some reason...

You need a cradle and the jdm winches are the smaller 7k winches. You may beable to get away with the current (winch) sizes but modification to the set up maybe needed.

then rhe OEM seems to have some kind of harness that came with it.

some diagrams off one of those threads. anyone understand what the difference is between these two diagrams please? what is meant when they talk about electric versus PTO exactly?

PTO winch runs off your drivetrain.

Only assuming the top picture is the universal bracket assembly set up. And the bottom diagram is the factory set up w/factory winch

That bumper is for a 91-94 spec. It’s a lower profile bumper compared to the 95-97 spec. I have a 93 so not too familiar with the later years but yours should have some kind of a crash sensor up front for the airbags. Not sure if the early bumper would work.

Finding the factory winch is pretty difficult. Chances of finding one is better over seas or in UE.

that's awesome.
i'm kind of happy to not have another wish list to do item.
so how would i decide definitively it won't fit my 97? that's a tough bit of info to get i guess?

Older bumper should work without issue. Now you just have to buy the winch (I’m selling one)

so do you know what is different? i guess i would have to find someone that installed the earlier one in a later vehicle to see? i'm not sure i have time for a project but i need to find mounting plates too.
can you put the plates in after you install the bumper? or o guess you need to install plates, then winch, then bumper?

anyone know how i find this bumper in the fiche? if it's JDM i guess it's still under the US vehicle i normally look up?
so i just need to get into the 91-94 fiche to see rhe difference?
anyone know if the mounting hardware is rhe same?
anyone happen to know do this winch would fit into the mounting hardware. not sure where rhis diagram came from but it was on one of the threads in here discussing this issue.
