Just ran it on Tuesday. It's open.

I ran my larger-than-stock spare in the stock position and had no problems. The OEM receiver hitch took all the hits.So I removed the crossbar thing where my spare tire is. So I have it tucked up really tight. I'm wondering I should plan to drop it and haul it on top in the cargo area once we are on trails.
Any thoughts?

Can't wait for those big highway grades.
smoking deal for somebody!!OME 860 springs I can bring if someone wants them $100? Used about a year. Sittin in the garage, thought I would ask.
Ok, so I have all the parts to do this AHC sensor lift.
2-2.5" AHC Lift Using King Coils & Shock Spacers
But I am honestly pretty intimidated to try to get it done before HIH this year. I am wondering a couple things. If I pack all the components and tools needed to do this job, would there be any interest from anybody either on the way to Colorado or while at camp in helping me do this install? And two, is there an alignment shop anywhere around the camp? I just know if I get started on this project with only six days off work until we leave, Murphy will show up. I am mechanically inclined and normally I would tackle this job head on if I was 100% in on keeping the AHC, but I'm not. I am going to switch to a "regular" suspension in the future.
I can see the biggest obstacle to doing this during a trip, is the alignment needed afterwardst.
If there is any interest in anybody helping, either by us stopping by your place on the way, or doing it in camp, let me know and I can set our plans accordingly. Also, if @bluecruiser and @paflytyer think this might be something that can be a learning experience and something worth doing at camp for educational purposes, I would gladly sacrifice my truck!
If there isn't any interest in doing this at camp or on the way, that is totally fine. I don't want anybody to feel obligated. I just wanted to put this out there and see what everybody else thinks.
This looks like a little more than a camp install to me. I'd think the easiest part of this would be a quick alignment after you get it installed. I'd tackle at home ASAP and get it dialed in before leaving. You could destroy a set of tires by not dialing it all in prior to a long drive like you plan on doing.

Yes, fluid change is not a big deal.
I wouldn't touch the lift in this compressed timeline, or at camp. Dialing it in after changing all the geometry on an AHC truck is a constant battle that took me weeks.
