When I bought the mule it was missing a tool bag/tools/retaining clips. Stopped by the hardware store today before heading over to the "garage" this afternoon. I'll post up picks of my "solution" for a tool bag retaining system. I did order a US rubberized canvas tool bag for $8 to complete my "Field expedient" kit...Pics to follow on Sunday. Tool bag pictured below..

Came up w/a low $$$ solution for tool bag retaining system. Picked-up three 1/2" conduit retainers, spaced them with a washer, stainless hardware and used a small green bungee cord for retention. Previous post shows the rubberized canvas tool kit. Approx $10ish in the "system"....

Nice work Jeff!

A one (1) Quart size MONSTALINER kit for the transmission hump and gas tank cover arrived and was promptly applied.

Hit up the local electrial supply house, ask for some MC one hole straps, they are 3/8" they will probably be a little less intrusive. You would need the US made ones, they are ribbed like the 1/2" EMT one hole. Heck, let me look through my bins and see if I have any leftover, if not I may have some at work.

In the process of remounting the gas tank. Used some closed cell foam as padding. Replaced some of the old line. Still have a couple of lines/clamps to replace...

My rear heater hard lines have more twists than a dime store detective story...Picked up some VENAIR 1/2 inch silicone hose that may work as a substitute...Just kicking the can right now.

Test fit my "previously new" defrost duct hoses for correct fit and function. Found an errant clump of household fiberglass insulation lurking above the heater. Truck came from Idaho so I am assuming this was something used by the PO to stave off an Idaho winter??!! Regardless, they seem to fit correctly. We'll see how the defrost op goes this winter......

Cut in the rear bed mat...Still have a little trimming to do for the rear heater. It's a CCOT product, heavy duty and seems to clean up easily....Waiting on the City Racer offering before I decide on a front mat. My original is getting close to retirement age!!

I'll take a look at the 3/8"..The 1/2" EMT was my 1st "go-round":hmm:. I spaced it with a washer to make it easy wrap the bungee cord..But, you get the concept.

Originals are a tad on the pricey side.

Just wanted to add...

My gas tank is metal (assuming original)..Had some surface rust on the bottom. Nothing that was close to coming through but worth some attention. I sanded it lightly and applied rust neutralizer, primer and some good old black "rustoleum" to the underside. I just forgot to take pictures (I was in the zone)..

I have a few more pics of the work from this weekend. I'll post up the remainder on Monday evening...

Looks like you were on fire today, getting it together quick! You can't beat this weather in August, keep it rolling.

New rubber arrived. Brake pedal is wearing some new clothes. The inner boot is compliments of City Racer...
