It just may go in there......:hmm:

Is there more than one layer under the carpet on the top side?

I'll have to take a look later ...

@cruiserdan,

The Mudder from anoth' motha' has relinquished claim to roll cage to you, in the spirit of keeping it in the 73 club.....even though you're one of those weirdo RHD types....

A warning..... since I'm behind in fulfilling other Cruiser karma orders.

If you're in a hurry, load up tools and c'mon over. Mebbe even bring a trailer and picker, and I'll load you up with unimaginable riches and treasures that'd make the Three Wise Men look like they shopped the blue light special aisle, including (but not limited to) many Fs, F parts, and enough Pig chit to fertilize 40 acres.

I did see a bare spot off to the side of the driveway in one if your pics, so know you've the NEED for Fs but I'll accept no praise for the benevolent gift to satisfy.

There IS a bit of space in one of the bushes off to the side of the carport......:lol:

What'd really spice things up is an Italiano Vittorio Motori 250T in that spot.
Translates as "Italian victory motor." With a name like that, it should look like this...

I am getting quite amped up to see if this is possible. A hidden bonus is rear shoulder belt anchor points.....:doh:

Sweet....Wanna make sure it'll go first.

So here are some pics...
First is stolen from another thread and is OEM roll bar base. Next 2 are my JDM wheel wells. I happened to have my carpet off. So there are flat spots there but it looks like there should be some extra metal on top with captive nuts

There we have it. An additional plate on top of the wheelhouse for the bar foot to sit on. That plate is quite sizeable to disttribute load and I bet the threaded holes do not penetrate the outer wheelhouse.

This development makes a "proper" retrofit significanlty more challenging.

The only way to get them would be to cut them out of a vehicle that has them. Not at all EVEN practical.

Oldtoy has no base plate, PO has bolted straight through wheel arch, which has not misaligned the overhead bolt pattern on the horizontal section, as I had to take those bolts out and put back in recently when adding the bar padding

The holes do not penetrate the outer wheelhouse. There are no bolts protruding into the tire side of the wheelhouse - at least on my 73.
