73 OEM rolcage what would be a reasonable price for it?

Cool.

So you should only need the bar and the outer cover, then.

Looks easy enough to pull the cabrio plastic cover, so I can send, but you'd better be secure in your orientation, because the cheap cologne is infused in every surface and if allowed under it's spell, you may find yourself looking for a mountain.

As far as I know it will come out without pulling the FRP. It should be three pieces. The hoop and the two forward horizontal bars.

That's what I thought, but unless the joint is concealed behind the rear headache protector, it's one.

The cross tube at the hoop is welded to it, as far as I can see.

Will be back there later and will investigate.

And maybe the pillar trim (to do it "right").

I could always soak it in Hoppe's #9.......:hillbilly:

I got a red X.

It's the tan plastic vertical cover between the bar and the floor.

Now I see it. Yup, that be the piece.

There are three pieces - the "hoop" that sits above the wheelwells and two lateral pieces that run between the hoop and the cabrio structure. The padded pieces cover the joints.

Whut?

That would be correct Dan, horizontal sections just bolts straight into the 2 existing threads that are in the overhead frame it's a mechano set,
With regard to protection with rollover, I have seen a couple of 74 in wreckers where they have been rolled, the FRP is twisted and fractured in places, but FRP is not crushed like a can , unless you intend to drive off a big cliff and free fall on to your roof, you are toast,.
The overhead pillar is your real safety, the FRP and roll gage just added extra support.

What if....

you needed to zag when you were forced to zig?

Realize a different series and have learned enough to minimize some factors that led to.

That said, the 73 is being built with the intentions of highway driving to wheel, wheeling, highway driving home.

If she lays down at 5mph, want to be able to right her and drive home.

If she rolls at +50mph, just want to live and not going to count on a fold down windshield, 22ga formed cabrio (??) and a fiberglass top.

Directive, as I see it, when the discussion begins on the cage will be to discount all existing structural as having any value, including floor or wells, tuck as tightly as possible to the top, appear like it belongs, but as light as modern metallurgy will allow.

Tall order.....once bitten, twice shy.

To add a little data to the discussion, Amayama shows the three "pipe" parts show below as being available (new OEM) for around $600 plus shipping from Japan. Just because the website shows as available doesn't mean the parts can actually be acquired/shipped.
