One of the quotes from the article …. “Going a step further than the Land Cruiser Heritage Edition we got in America.”

Perhaps I’m missing the “big picture” but in the case of the Heritage Edition, Toyota deletes some accessories, adds an old style emblem and then charges more. 😊

Lol, you gotta love media!

I also am a little disappointed that they show over 100 photos to view, but they posted the same ones several times! 🙄 More like 40 pics.... still that is much more than you usually get in most articles....

I find it kind of hilarious that aside from some VERY minor aesthetic changes, the basic vehicle is pretty much the same from the 80's. The engine is the biggest change most recently with the addition of the V-8 diesel, but aside from that....

Brings to mind the old adage "if it ain't broke...."

A lot of the interior switches are the same in my 2004 100 series. Antenna up and down, defog, etc.

I like the manual transmission only and front and rear diff locks standard.

I was behind a VDJ79 yesterday, it had the widened rear axle to make it the same track as the front axle. It looked much better than the old narrow rear axle. I had hoped Toyota would have remedied that by now. Maybe they never will.

First one I’ve seen on sale “in the flesh”, so to speak, with non-PR pictures.
@c2dfj45 that grille looks straight up your alley 😆
It's a piece a crap, 5th picture in, the right-rear taillight is out.

Otherwise I was interested, but only because of the cupholders... LOL 😜

If only... sigh...

So funny, all the different switches from 80 series and 100 series. ;<)

Yeah....I'll pass on that one. :)

I like the center console though....

Its beginning to look like it was built from the 60 and 80 series parts bin. Its lost most of the straight angular lines of the original 7* series and now has that chubby look, like a fat kid in a icecream ad.

Those pics highlighting the tried, true, cheap and simple HVAC controls is the most beautiful thing I've seen in quite a while
They should work ok by now. They are a 37 year old design:cool:. I always liked them because I can reach over and do anything with the controls without looking at them.

More like a 100 year old design. Cheap, rugged, reliable. On/off switch, a simple potentiometer, and levers to adjust air flow.

Simple and cheap and just works. The opposite of what the automakers are forcing on us today.
