Took me a fair bit of research and time to figure all this out. Toyota sure made a lot of 70-series variations.

Well, in some markets there is also an LJ79 which came with the normally aspirated 3L engine. LOL. I'm not sure Toyota really had a whole lot of logic in this....

It was a lack of numbers I guess. So they doubled up on the 77/78/79 series I would guess the 72 series is the rarest of them all
