If you live on the East Coast, call Tim at Wheel Works in NJ. I have his number if interested. He widened my Steelies to 8”. Price was fair, Pm for details.

Will the early acorn hub caps fit on these wheels?
Yes. See Project Patina

Edit: the city racer wheels yes and I’d assume the aluminum since the acorn caps and the “newer” caps fit on the same OE Toyota wheels

I have looked at city racers 16s but I want something wider 7 or 8 inches, so I was asking about the aluminum rims. Where can I find information on them?

You have any more pics of this from different angles? I was going to go 33x10.5, but this looks sweet. Looks like you had to trim your rear wheel wells?

Truck is mostly in its original build state from 2001…which included the rear wheel well cutting, which I don’t care for.

Had the builder followed a factory radius, I’d be much happier.

I added the 7” wide wheels…originally it had 15x8 (or maybe 15x10) wagon wheels:

It has a suspension and body lift…the body lift was added by the “second” owner, only to add to the height aesthetic he was going for. I’d guess the 35x12.50s on 7” wheels would work on a 3-4” lift without trimming rear fenders…but it’s only a gut feeling.

I’d prefer a 35x10.50R16 or R17, with a set of factory radius rear overlays for the rear wheel well openings.

thanks! I'm mid restore of my 1979. I have about 3.5-4" lift, New floor pans and quarter panels and don't want to cut them. I'm just realizing I have 35s on my 80, I'll throw one on the rear of the 40 and see how it looks and if it will clear. Do you have the factory motor? if so how does it handle the weight of those tires? I've had my 2f rebuilt and slightly modded for more power, sniper EFI going in as well.

2F bored .020 over…4.56 gears in the diffs, and an H55F 5-Speed…Cruises 75 at 2500 RPM and accelerates well in traffic (can easily start out in 2nd with this combo).

Test fitting 35×12.50's and steelies off of my buddies Land Cruiser. I really like the "old school" tall skinny look with steelies. 35's would require suspension work for me to run them off road. 33×10.50 will be perfect for my setup... but I'm currently running 15×8 aluminum wheels and not sure how 33×10.50 will look?

33x10.50R15 Maxxis Razrs on 15x5.5” 40 Series Cruiser wheels on 1989 SR5 first gen 4Runner with a 2” body lift.

Looks just right to me…drives horrible with the 3.0 and stock gearing.

you guys are KILLING me! I was thinking the 33s (33/10.50/15 on stock FJ40 wheels) looked meaty. Those 35/12.50s look great!

I am now running 35x12.5 r15 on 15x7 rims, the poor mans beadlock. I guess I take most of my pictures at the same angle haha

Did you ever find out info on these? I'm curious for the same info.

it was a while ago but I believe the aluminum rims were made the FJCompany. I think what they were offering was 16”, so no good for me.

I tried to confirm this on their site but I don’t see that they have them listed anymore.
