Cancelled my Ouray hotel and booked at the Wyman in Silverton. We'll camp most of the time, but decided to break it up with a Saturday night hotel stay. This new location looks fantastic! Great job organizers, we really appreciate what you are doing to create an amazing experience for everyone.

I have said this before, but this is the last year I am going to miss this. It's HIH VII or bust for me!

Thanks Kelly, that's super nice of you. We are all good. We are relying on tee shirt money to cover the extra costs. (everyone gets 1 shirts with registration, but buying another is always helpful) This was never a money making operation, just a great step for us as an event. Covering our costs has always been enough.
@paflytyer is a humble man. I, on the other had will have a tip jar on my bumper....;)

Remember, this is a camp event too. Stay at least two nights in camp. That's where all the excitement happens!

Don't forget to mention you're in town for HIH. Every dollar we spend in town is like depositing money in the bank of Good Karma.

This is another shot from the area (got it from their site), how many vehicles are on the list now? Just curious but if you ratter not say it's all good!

Formerly SD. However, if you are going through Flagstaff then we Arizonians are talking about a convoy if you are interested.

Wow, big news! Thinking we'll move our hotel (currently staying in Ouray Saturday).

I'll start the name game:

I'm Andy and I'm a cruiser-holic. My wife and our dog will be attending.

@paflytyer @bluecruiser First of all, you guys are clearly doing so much for this event. THANK YOU! Have you considered offering (for purchase) vinyl window decals for the event? I think it'd be awesome to have some common identifier for the group in the form of a 12x18" simple logo or something. I guess many folks in town will know just by the type of vehicle, but another identifier would be great. It's clear you guys have started something special here and I think it's safe to say we're all proud to be a part of it.

We have the area from Thursday through Sunday.
You mean we all have to be out by Sunday evening or Monday morning?
Our plan is to leave monday morning to hit the road to Arizona. If it will be an issue (and I know we always have a few trucks left that day) let us know so we can deal with it! Thanks.

The stickers have been around and they are cool! The last couple specially! Not huge but cool!

Thanks kelly saad. That will likely be our route. I'll PM as the date nears.

I've heard all about the excellence of this event from past attendees, and can't wait to experience it and put some faces to the names I see so often. A huge thank you to the organizers for all the hard work.

This is exciting! Kim was pretty stoked about the shower addition, and I am just can't wait for July to get here! I know it has been said many times, but we can't thank you guys enough!

We will have stickers made again this year. We have always included one sticker with registration.

We may look at creating more stickers this year and asking for folks to buy an extra. That money will go back into the event by purchasing something for our trail leaders. Trail leading is an incredibly important aspect of this event and we task our leaders with more than just good leadership and trail knowledge. We ask them to know the local flora and fauna, some history of the area, have a basic understanding of group dynamics, an understanding of safe wheeling techniques, and generally represent HIH in the best way possible.

Leading trails is one of my favorite aspects of any event and it's incredibly rewarding to show folks (especially those from out of state) the beauty of Colorado. The fact that so many of you are traveling from so far away and making this your true summer vacation is not lost on us. We want to make this the best summer vacation you've ever taken.

We will be running multiple trail options each day and we will need a few extra trail leaders this year. Please let me know (via PM or email) if you are interested in leading a trail. We ask that you have attended at least 2 HIH events to be a trail leader. I fully understand that some of you have led trails for other events and could lead even if this is your first HIH, but HIH is unlike any other event. It's about learning, understanding, teaching, communicating and bringing your group together. It's not about the hardest lines or the fastest routes. We want you to stop often and smell the wildflowers (just don't pick them......maybe one for the kids to press in a photo album), slow down and take photos, enjoy the Colorado air and the freedom of public land. HIH is unique and we want to keep it that way. Having trail leaders that understand what this event is about is important. That will create the best possible experience for everyone.

Thanks. I booked a room there. I'm a big history buff and have spent over 20 years restoring our family's 1820s antebellum house with my father, so I can't wait to see the renovations they have done!

Hi All, My name is David/Dave - whichever one suits your mood. I've been an owner of a lx470 since January, but a longtime fan of the land cruiser in general. Big thank you to @paflytyer and @Blue Cruiser for putting together what is shaping up to be quite an amazing experience. Looking forward to meeting all of you and bringing some St. Louis delicacies for you all to enjoy. I'll be bringing the girlfriend and our dog, of which both are quite the princesses when it comes to camping.

Quick question about the campground, will we have access to the showers and bathrooms even if we are just doing tent camping? Or is that something only available to folks with cabins?

Also, if you guys could do something about moving Kansas between now and July that would be great. What a damn big and boring state to drive across...

Back to putting in Icon Stage III suspension :)!

Dave
