I'm going to post this here too, because they are a sponsor of the event.

Metaltech 4x4 has a coupon code (1/2RECOVERED) that is valid until the 5th for all iron man recovery gear. That puts the large kit priced at $157 plus shipping. It's the best price I've seen on a full recovery kit ever. It's even cheaper than the cheapo no name kits from Amazon.

. Nice find. Support these guys. That's a deal.

I didn't get an email invoice yet.

11 days to hit the road :steer:! Still getting things ready and the pressure is on. Excited to get going!
All you guys have a great 4th of July and a very happy birthday to you Mr @BJTLC100

Thanks Paulo!

Yeah, time disappeared and now I feel like I am scrambling. haha Did new bearings, valve cover gaskets, new tensioner assembly, oil change, sea foam, and a few other things this weekend. Rear driveshaft is getting new u-joints/balance tomorrow, and the master cylinder is being rebuilt this week.

Wheeeeew. :slap:

I still have to rebuild my master cylinder and install my extended brake lines

I am nervous about the master cylinder, but I got to get it done. Pedal is getting soft.

I still need to purchase a means to transport water. I'm looking for 5-7 gallon capacity. I need something robust and inexpensive. What do you all suggest?

I saw those and wasn't sure how well they would hold up to rough trails. I plan to store whatever I get between the 1st and 2nd row seats in the floorboard.

I have a Reliance aqua-tainer that works just fine! I know many use the same or the skinnier/taller version! This is a 7 gallons, the skinny one is 5.

Thanks for all of the quick replies. I believe for this trip I will try out one of the aquatainers and upgrade to a scepter if I ever feel the need to upgrade.

Since I'm here might as well share! I got a cheapo POS plastic holder for the cb and hate the thing so decided to make my own ram mount for it with some scrap angled sheet metal, a nut and a Ram ball! Much happier!
