My 69 sitting up for LONG time. Needed to replace line from tank to fuel filter canister, and canister to pump. I think it used to be flexible, now it is more like stiff plastic. The fittings to tank and fuel filter canister are not NPT, so I had to get creative. What I came up with was brake fittings. The tank fitting matches a 5/16 brake fitting, so I bought two 8" x 5/16 brake lines, and cut each line about 1.5" from each end fitting, giving me 4 nipples. I then used 5/16" female to female brake line couplers to attach the brake line to original fittings at tank, in and out side of fuel filter canister, and input to fuel pump. (Exit from fuel pump is hard line). Any reason I can't do this? IMG-20140102-00036.jpg

That is where the second clamp on the bottom goes. Just roughed in right now.

Other than homemade fabrication like this, what have the rest of you done? I am not so far into this that I can't upgrade if I find a better idea.

I brought mine into Parker Fittings which is a hydraulic shop and they were able to cut off the old metal fitting and attach it to a new flexible hose. We were not able to find a new replacement for the fitting since it is some weird type of thread pattern. We couldn't find a standard thread, metric thread, or pipe thread to match whatever toyota used.
