Need to find some defroster hoses for a 67...SOR wants almost $100 a piece for them...anyone have any alternatives?

Don't know the dimensions, maybe someone else can chime in, but they are smaller than the ones on the 72...length would probably be similar. Do you have a link to vintage air?

Do you need the elbows off the box also? I have a supply of hose/tube but being it's 40 years old not the most pliable. most of my spare stuff came off a Stout.

Do Not buy some from $or. I ordered some for my '75 and sent them back. They were not $100 a piece, but the quality was crap. I armor alled mine as they were in great shape, and they look great.

yes, i need the elbows as well...and the hose...I will pm you.

75's are totally different than the mid 60's versions.

Friend of mine ran some hose he found at home depot for nearly nothing. Was on a 73

Good luck I spent a couple of years looking for a set of those. I even bought two sets from people that said were from a 67'. The problem is, that the hoses are made of some sort of heavy paper or cardboard. When they get old they just fall apart . Only the 90 degree elbows, that attach to the heater are rubber. Another reason that they are hard to find is that heaters were still an option in 66' and 67' (I think).

I ended up just finding some flexable hose that was close enough to the same size. The hose was extra from my wood working shops overhead vacum system. The trick is finding some that fits inside the heater and over the defrost vent.
Good luck

I know the 65 the heater was an option and have heard it was available in 64 too. This style ran until around 9/67 when the 68 model started. The next style ran from the 68 model thru the 73 model. Then from the 74 model it was pretty much the same. The big differance was the hose had rubber elbows and rubber hose to start then around 78 I think it changed to a molded plastic. Anything pre 74 is hard to find because of the rubber elbow. The pre 68 is even harder. I picked up a set for my 68 from Toyota in the mid eighties and these have seemed to lasted better than the originals. I guess I say the later years were easier to find is bacause I picked up quite a few of the plastic ones out of junk yards over the years and they were all in great shape while all the rubber ones were shot here in the desert.

These are the E-1968 OEM the defrost elbows and the risers were a foil paper affaire easily damaged.

I never installed them, I endes up replacing my heater with a later 1968 style Heater and defroster hose much nicer,

I had a couple inquires about the NOS defrost elbows I originally bought them from Specter in 1988 for $5.30 each and the risers were like $9.00 then, they got squashed in storage

They are long gone now.....Sorry i didn't buy a case !
I sold the elbows on E-Bay in 2005 the set for $52.00 to I think some one on here MUD who a month later using the same picture then sold them again for a $130.00

This might be something someone should consider to reproduce !
