I’ve looked at a number of threads on bearings for the idler pulley and AC tensioner pulley. Some mention 6301 and some list 6302. Pretty sure it is the same bearing for both.

Can someone verify the correct ones for a 62? I’m confused o_O

TIA

I’d like to have the replacement part before tearing it apart

6301

But-there are numerous 6301 bearings that differ by shielding, speed rating, load rating, temp rating etc.

I used 6301-DDUC3, and 6301-2NSE-C3 and the C3 is the higher temp rating.

This thread says 6301, might be worth it to just buy the whole pulley assemblies if you don't have a press. They might be able to be hammered in and out though, I'm not sure.

@NearJetties I used 6301 as mentioned above, I found Koyo at a specialty bearing shop in town but probably easy to source anywhere. I bought two...and yes I stupidly buggered one up tapping it in. Glad I had the extra. IIRC there’s a clip to retain the bearing but it does have to be pressed/tapped in.

I also replaced the other idler pulley that was available complete from Toyota. Pic below...

Original NSK on the right, Koyo left...

Ordered the pulley assembly (88440-35010) and all new belts from Toyota.

Got 2 SKF 6301 2RSC3 from JSB Great Bearings.

By far the best price when factoring in shipping (it was free or had a $5 2-4 day option). I’m in no rush so we’ll see how long it takes. A lot of places had crazy shipping minimums like $15-$20.

Call me cheap bit for years I pop the bearing out the pulley. Peel back the rubber casing. Clean with brake cleaner and regrease. Unless the obvious grenaded bearings inside. YouTube have videos on it also

Just for clarification, 60s use the 6302 Double shielded. Nachi is the OE bearing. The diff between a 6301 vs 6302

(btw, don't use a Chinese bearing. My luck was not good until I replaced with Japan-made.)
