Don't know this guy, but talked to him on the phone today. '82 FJ40 drive train, wrong doors, wrong hood, wrong seat. Good bed and tailgate...he says.
I'll be in that area (Roseville) next week, can get pics and see for myself.

nice tranny support :), did he happen to give you a price

Y'know, I asked about that several times. He was pretty vague, told me what he had into it, told me what others had told him it was worth, but never gave me a solid "sell for" number...
He says he's not too motivated to sell, maybe just a feeler. Maybe just looking for a 'Cruiserhead who just has to have a '63 and will pay top dollar. Dunno.

Edit: What tranny support?

Edit: What tranny support?

no crossmember on the splitcase, probably used the bellhousing mounts.
also the bib and turn signals aren't correct
doesn't look like there is a e brake cable running to the rear axle
also wonder if he cut the rib on the firewall or used a spacer?
also wondering what he did with the plates that should be inplace of the hinges?

Interesting.

Any one we know?

I know I've seen the flat plates used instead of hinges. But I do believe the very early 45s had the windshield as part of the cowl. I've seen pictures somewhere. Maybe a old SOR catalog. Maybe Mark A. or Marv would know. I bet John Pardi would know.

some had plate deletes instead of hinges, some did not have the plate and just had the whole assembly "molded" together somehow.

So are you saying the non-removable tops still had hinges?

I always thought they had a plate that screwed/bolted in place of the hinges.
I never saw one without, that's why I questioned it above.

no hinges on non removable top models, that I know of.

No, not a hinge, a delete plate.. just a flat plate that if you wanted could replace with hinges. Some didn't even have the plate. SOmehow they were Fused together.
