Yeah pretty miserable. Naturally, it cleared up when I finished.

At least I got it done enough to drive it to work this afternoon, the mighty celica with it's racing slicks isn't the greatest when there's a snowflake on the ground.

C'est finis. Pretty much.

Now to figger out contactor wiring.

It even works...still need to add a "holy s***" switch to the hot wire, but for now I'll just leave it disconnected. (if you've ever had a winch stick ON, you'll understand the holy s*** switch. )

Runva contactors are pretty slick. Much nicer than the solenoid nest most winches come with.

(don't mind the fancy cables, just more stuff I've been hoarding for years... )

Looks good. I've often though of putting a "holy s***" switch" on mine. I really should get around to that....

Yeah, my old ramsey had a dodgy solenoid at one point.

Discovered it's dodginess while using it to assist in changing the clutch on the wife's civic many many moons ago.

Course it happened the ONE time I got her to help...I managed to get to the switch before the front end of the car came off the ground, but barely....Mel was super excited about all this.

Something about "how the fxxx do we lower it back down????

A smidge overdue. ...

Beer break before side two...

Question of the day, why the fxxx do 84-85 mini truck knuckle kits come with plates for the felt wipers and 60 series kits do not?

Fricken asinine.

So i dug into the shed to find my spare birfs. They were covered in dirt, so i figgered I'd take one apart to clean it. (It felt better than the one that came out of the truck.)

A nugget fell out which I thought was a metal chunk.

There it is in the foreground looking like a greasy rat turd.

Which is exactly what it is.

No doubt the same rodent that pissed on my shop towel, adding a pleasant bouquet to the process of scooping out the old grease and mung from the knuckles. ...

Where did you order a kunckle kit from and how much $ every knuckle kit I have ordered came with new plates for the wipers

Yeah me too until this one. Which is why I turfed the old ones before checking.

I'll have to steal some s***ty ones off another axle. Which is a bit of a pissoff.

Kit was from cruiser outfitters.

Called radd on Friday to see if their kits had plates, and nope. No plates or metal springs that go under felts.

Otherwise I'd have just bought another one, despite the price difference.

Agreed that is $h!t!... I have a few rusty ones kicking around you can have if you need

Ah, the 61 is finally getting some lovin. Looks good man. Love the greasy rat turd...haha.

Thanks, but I've got some kicking around as well. It's more annoying than anything else. Don't think there's any difference between 84-85 mini truck and 60 knuckles...so why one comes with plates and the other doesn't is beyond me.

Yeah hard to put it off much longer...I need my tractor back.

Best part, I actually had to break the turd in half to verify it was in fact a turd and not a chunk of metal. Little bastard....not sure how he managed to poop inside my freaking birfield, but I'm taking it personally.
