Just got finished looking at it. Needs brakes, AC blows but no cool air, tranny pretty rough between 1st and 2nd gear. I'd say if you're interested, budget a transmission real soon. Had homemade "sliders" welded onto the body. Very little underside rust, body was pretty good, interior was good except for dash crack and fabric separation on door panel. Seats have been recovered in a similar to stock fabric and are under camo covers. Missing a front speaker and passenger front window switch. Bumper is cool- looks aluminum that was spray painted black and is peeling. 8000lb warn, 31 mud tires, clear coat is peeling off but paint underneath looks really good. Some scratches on the side, a little surface rust on the body in a spot where paint is off. Nothing serious. Impressive lack of fluid leaks underneath. He'll take $5000 cash. That plus trans, brakes, AC is more than I can spend now so I'm passing.

1987 Diesel FJ60 Land Cruiser Custom

A customer of mine is selling his converted diesel 60. It has all of the goodies and most are new. Truck is extremely well taken care of and ready to find a new home. Engine runs smooth an the transmission shifts like butter. It has been his daily driver for the past few years. If you have been considering a 60 this is the one to get.

I loved my 62 but it was extremely lethargic. This truck is peppy and well built. I am seriously debating on buying it as a shop truck/driver but I have too many irons in the fire at the moment to pull the trigger. I would love to see is stay local. It truly is an amazing machine.

Want so much...

Threw more $$$ at the 60 to fix the AC system. Chris has been driving it and the fuse isn't popping so something in the compressor must have been shorting out

Latest round of repairs:

Windshield with OEM chrome and gasket
New heater/AC blower
New AC compressor and condenser
New vacuum port for idle up

Thanks Chris for getting it all done.

Oh yeah, 49 Tire installed a new EBrake cable. That was $100 in labor Well Spent!!

The guys at Venable did a good job on the outside and on the chrome but they kinda dicked up the headliner

I'll keep an eye on it but they charged so little to do the install I'm not going to go all @MScruiser on them.

For chrome, use Coke and a piece of crumbled up aluminum foil to remove rust and stains.

Verry nice truck but there's not one pic of the engine in that ad!
I didn't major in marketing but.... if that's the selling point, sell it.

Lots of y'all know that I lost a great friend a couple of weeks back who was an awesome cruiser mechanic. I was going to try and buy his 60 series if no one in the family wanted it but alas an adult nephew does. I am in the process of driving it to make sure there aren't any bugs in the system since it has sat for 4 or 5 years. Put a battery in it, turned it over to get fuel to the bowl, pulled the child and she fired right up. Excellent oil pressure and no heating problems. My only question is, WHERE THE HELL IS 5TH GEAR? If these things had 5th they would be even more awesome.

Japan decided the Americans were not worthy of 5th gear until 2003
