@SHUSH may be interested in this one if the wife is still yearning for one. I like the color.

Also, tech question: I have been having a pretty noticeable noise in my front suspension or steering or axles (like the way I narrowed that down for you) ever since I put on the new OME springs and bigger tires. It sounds like "clunk" and you will definitely here it at slow speed, sharp turns. I THINK it is the springs twisting in the shackles. @wct49 tightened my U-bolts really hard at my last visit. I also tightened down the shackle bolts and pins really hard last weekend (by hand, not machine). They were very loose. The sound went away for a short ride, but as soon as a I took a few sharp turns, I heard a pop and then the clunking started again. Is this just noise that old lifted 60 owners must live with or am I about to drop my suspension? Just curious. I will put it on jack-stands and move the wheel back and forth and see if I can diagnose further.

As always, thanks. Oh, and payment for your trouble/advice is below:*

OME's have a clunk. It's the spring packs shifting. No way around it. You can grease between the leaves and it will go away, only to return once the grease is worked out.

I wanted to reinstall my sway bar so I GEORGLED up some new (slightly) longer bolts.

image.jpg

Of course it wasn't so easy. I broke off one of the bolts when I took it off so I had to drill that out.

Other than that it was super easy.

Pig and I took it for a spin and stopped in to see Jessssss

I can't believe how much better it drives with the swaybar on. I'm not sure how that makes so much difference in body roll but it does.

So I figured since the bolts were only slightly longer than stock and it handles so well that I was going to have zero flex.

Color me shocked but it flexed out as good as before.

Crazy. I'm so pleased.

@FJ60Cam I remember you were considering grafting in a crotch vent in your tubing on your 60

Why not just drill some holes in there? Why would that not work?

I wanted to be able to direct it and shut it off if need be.

Thanks for the reminder, I keep forgetting about that. I'll try and find that vent and put it in.

Wait! A crotch vent that sux!?! I'd be crashing all over two states.

Thinking about giving the old 60 a new injection of fluids tomorrow. It's about time for another oil change, and even though the "diff" was checked and confirmed "full" after doing my knuckle job, I still think it would be a good idea to change out the oil in there. SAE 90 right? Anyone know how much off hand?

I may also change the transmission fluid, although I have to drop the cross-member/skid plate thingy to get to it.

I had this pic in my phone from a recent gear oil shopping spree...

The transmission is like 4 or 5 quarts.

Natalie saw a navy blue 60 with Washington front plates on meadow brook?

Got some good info in my AC circuit breaker tripping.

https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/blower-heater-circuit-breaker-tripping.872870/

I've got a new blower motor inbound.

One thing that has been taxing this tired old truck is that it is not idling up when the compressor kicks on. Need that fixed. Everything is in place and seems to not be leaking. I did the truck where I sprayed carb cleaner around all the vacuum hoses and no rpm spikes.

Lastly, I reported that it has been running rough since I did the Sea Foam fog.

I pulled the air cleaner off and it seems most if that first treatment went into the air cleaner area and was gumming everything up.

I cleaned it all up and used a can of carb cleaner on the Aisin and it's running much better.

Still burning the s*** out of oil but smooth.
