I've got a 86 FJ60 I drive here and there, noticed this evening that it appears I have a rear pinion seal leak problem. Any opinons on what brand to get or stay away from on pinion seals. I'm not stranded or stuck..so I can order whatever...

It's an 85 with some lite front end damage. Ran when parked. Still has oil in it, so may do som investigating and see if we can turn it over.

Does red head rebuild any box you send? Any of you had a 60 or 62 box rebuilt? Other options? Erin is looking for one for a guy. Thanks

Yes, send it. I’ve done a 60 box. Just sent an 80 box.
They are more expensive than the regular recommendations, but claim to machine down to fresh meat and use bigger ball bearings.
So far, the 60 box seems to be holding :knocksonwood:

I have sent 4 off to them. 100% perfect. The early 85 down to 1980 FJ60 box is an oddball. They will need a core. Anything newer than that just use/get a 80 box

I am getting my Redhead box delivered this week for my FJ60. Brad was great to work with.
A little. Not much. Mainly it’s availability. That said the 80 can be upgraded to a 105 sector shaft but a late 60 can’t.
