I use a single XS Power Group 27 battery in mine and has been going strong for 6 years on the same battery. I’ve ran large air compressors, stereo with 2 10’s and various other loads and never had the truck not start. Once left my rock lights on for almost a week and it still cranked.

are you buying the battery local or web site.... from my recent reading I think there is one of those battery plus stores near me (@ decatur AL)...

local where I live (Cullman AL) ....there are some off-brand AGM things which i'm hesitant to buy, then general selection is limited in even old school traditional battery.

that battery you have posted appears to be a "monster".....in ratings...etc.

I ordered it from Summit if I remember correctly.

If you know....

whats to know with the XS AGM batteries vs. the X2 AGM batteries...just wondering based on my great internet searches?

Did you have to make any alterations to your electrical setup to accommodate the AGM battery ?

** I put my old school crank battery back in the truck this afternoon as it survied (its "sisters" meltdown) and so I'll use that as I consider what to do next...the AGM stuff is very appealing...so at least right now the truck runs and I can move it around. No fires observed so far. No secondary battery...and likley there will not be a secondary battery in the future unless I have a power meltdown to some degree. Bought a noco jump pack to be my friend to keep in the truck as I test stuff out and its probally a good thing to do anyway...with these projects that really never get finished.

anyone in the MS group ever replace the foam on the OEM style radiator where the radiator "kind of seals" against the radiator core support ? If so what did you use? I have a 4 row OEM style radiator in good shape but the foam is rotting away and needs replacement. Wondering what you used and what type of glue etc...used to get it to stick. Whats on the radiator now...will probably be hell to remove but it needs to come off and new stuff installed.

If a heater core is close enough, I used packing foam around the manifold areas of the heater core in my 40 when I replaced it last fall. I used spray adhesive for headliners to glue it to the heater core. It appeared to work fine. Now it is just a matter of time to see if I made good material selections and it holds up.

Good luck

At present, I still have lots of 60/62 parts (if needed.) That being said, I just started Operation Make Space today, so a lot of them will be on the market soon. Just an FYI.......
He’s doing a frame swap because his left the chat on us deep in the Ozarks on a 25* rainy day

If anyone else is having frame problems and wants to swap to coils I have an 80 series rolling chassis that’s looking for a new home.

@offr0adlim0 maybe I need to just come down and see about dragging that body and chassis home. I'll text you tomorrow.

Anyone know of any source for rear dif cover on FJ60 ? 1986 version if that matters.

Are used items the only choice out there now? I can't find anything...been surfing around for a while.

No go on new Toyota items at least in the US...according to my local Toyota friend. (discontinued)

yea....tks.... I meant to say I can't find anything new.

if anyone needs a spare 60 series steering gear I have 2 or 3. I'm in north AL, if you come over this way and need that msg me. No charge on parts....All had some form of a leak, no known mechanical issues or external damage. Some of this is / has been sitting in a tote soaking up slime, but anyway. I'm tired of looking at these. I removed a gear last weekend where the housing is leaking, I've gone to an 80 series gear. So..just wanted to post in case someone needed it. I'll hold something for reasonable period of you are committed to coming by the shop to get it. But otherwise stuff is going away soon. Text me ...if you want (256) 338-four-six-zero-nine. Include your name and give me a clue who you are if you text given all the cool user names etc. I wanted to post here in case anyone needs a "gear". I don't know the precise condition of the stuff thats legacy, but I do know that the gear I just took off last week is leaking and to my knowledge works fine otherwise. FYI
