before- immaculate, high desert, well-maintained '89 FJ62 I was trying to help the PO sell.. no rust, every bolt came clean, no deterioration
fj62_coast.jpg

after- many mods, many dents and scratches, many stories and beautiful countryside travelled, and a hood signed by a Toyota chief design engineer. currently 240,000 miles on the chassis

I'll play :)

'85 FJ60 with 207k on the odometer
Westminster, Colorado (originally purchased from Burt Toyota in Denver)
Used primarily for camping and moderate-advanced trails.
OME 2.5" lift and some bald 32's at the moment. Planning on 4.88, 35's and a tire-carrier bumper this winter, and more serious upgrades as the wallet allows.

"Jones" - yeah, a nickname based on the comment made by my Daughter when she had her first ride in it - "Hey Dad - this reminds me of the Indiana Jones ride in Disneyland, cool!"

Mileage is about 222xxx

The PO lifted it but not sure of any details.

Camping, fishing, driving back & forth to the local auto store.

Hi there,
Saw your Cruiser on the 60 registry... I just got an 88 fj62 and I want the style of rims you have. Could you please tell me what they are and wheel size. Also if any back spacing was needed, lift or suspension? Really like your ride. Thanks

Chris

If you were talking to me, thanks! Those are 15x10 U.S. Steel Rock Crawlers. I actually got the package from desertrat.com. I required spacers in the front to avoid the calipers (I think all they needed was 1/4 inch), and I had just installed the Old Man Emu 2.5-3 inch lift the day before that photo was taken. So far, I have been left breathless with the change in the ride after suspension, tires, and wheels.

3) 149K on the odometer
4) no name...yet
5) was a completely stock people carrier in Aspen in her previous life, and she's never left the Roaring Fork Valley of Colorado.
* replaced the leaf springs to get some lift *roof rack *roof rack lights front and rear * Front bumper lights *monster tie down anchors for the kid seats *stock 3FE *33 BFG MT's *Tie rod rebuild *full tune * The roof rack lights are on a waterproof quick disconnect so I can remove the rack when I want to park in the garage. Front rack lights work independantly and swing out 90 degrees and can lock into place...for camp lighting or such.
5a) wants (as $$ allows): knuckle rebuild, ARB bull bar, window tinting, AC fixed
6) daily driver

7) her after a bath and good coat of Turtle Wax

Here's also a mud link to a Colorado Cruiser trip we had this past weekend: https://forum.ih8mud.com/co-colorado-land-cruisers/465305-cruiser-q-2-glenwood-springs-2.html

Pretty much stock for now. I recently purchased this cruiser and have since changed oil, oil filter, fuel filter, air filter, plugs, wires, cap and pvc valve. I've got a lot more to do, but little by little. It's a great rig and drives like a champ!
