Reviving the thread to see if anyone has tried the Terrain Tamer parabolics yet. I gotta get some new leafs in my 60 this year and I was about to pull the trigger on a Dobinsons kit until I heard about the parabolics.

I'm extremely interested as well. The Aussie's seem to love parabolics, but they haven't seemed to get much traction stateside. I saw the Terrain Tamer kit for the 60 but I haven't been able to find a dealer/distributor in the US, I'm scared to find out how much shipping for 4 leaf springs from Australia is.

I've looked into sourcing, it'll cost about $2,000 for the TT parabolic kit and about $1,000 to ship it here from Australia. So far I've only found one person that's installed them on a 60 via instagram. He likes them but hasn't put them to the test off road. I'd love to put them on my 60 but without good recommendations I can't bring myself to do it. I'm thinking of going Dobinsons since there are plenty of folks happy with that set up.

Are any of the MUD vendors Terrain Tamer distributers? Can they get the 60-series parabolic kit?

Does Dobinson's make Parabolic springs for the 60 series? I can't find them on their website. There are actually a couple Dobinsons's retailers close to me.

I spoke with the guys at Valley Hybrids. I'm not sure how they are classified but they offer Terrain Tamer parts and can source the springs but don't stock them. If there are multiple folks interested in ordering maybe they'll give us a break

No, not parabolics that I’m aware of but I’ve heard a number of positive reviews about their ims shocks and springs. I get the impression that it’s the shocks more so than the springs

I'm in the same situation. I'm probably gonna buy some this year but I'd love to hear some more opinions and reviews first.

My hj61 will be mainly used as a tourer and I'm interested to hear how the springs go on outback corrugations.

Yeah I've found the same price about $3K to get to Canada. I've read a few threads of guys ordering from Oz and receiving their orders quite quick but a lift kit might take a bit longer. I'm just about convinced the ride would be superior than a traditional set of springs, what I'm trying to decipher is the load rating. They're rated 500kg but I'm assuming that's per spring and you take away the sprung weight of the vehicle and whatevers left over would be load carrying capacity? That seems to make more sense to me than 500kg of additional load carrying - for a 3 leaf pack.

My 60 is more of a camper/tourer and load carrying is more important to me than anything, although if it flexes better I won't complain. Any extra offroad capability gained is an added bonus. If I'm not overthinking this, which I probably am, curb weight of a 60 is 4200lbs... take away unsprung weight, I guesstimate axles around 250 each? So 3700lbs of sprung weight, 500kg springs would be 4400lbs so you get 700lbs of additional carrying capacity.... Seems to make sense to me but could be way off.

Also, Dobinson's makes a parabolic but only in Oz for the 78 and 79 series.

I bet you could reach out to TT and they could advise you as to what kit to install based on how you are outfitted.

Terrain Tamer parabolics received.

I did send them an email awhile back and never got a response. Should just try to call them. Truck's empty right now but I figure with a drawer set up I'll have 3-400lbs constant. I think either kit would suit my goal but I can't help but think the parabolics would be better..

Just as a matter of interest, i have had the TT kit on my 61 for about six months.
It is very good, no problems off road.

Awesome! Did you go with the standard 60 series kit??

I've been hearing people have been putting 75 series leafs in the front with extended shackles, for a bit of a better ride and shackle angle.

What's your shackle angle like??
How do they feel compared to what you had?
Is the ride much softer?? How about body roll??
What shock absorbers did you go with??
Did you have to extend your brake lines??

Sorry for so many questions!

Sorry, just saw this.
Standard kit, but it was for a HJ61.
It replaced original springs with some old aftermarket shocks. It was shot 10 years ago when i got the truck.
The TT kit was recommended to me by a few people after a lot of looking around.
I also installed new brake hoses with the kit, all fit no problems. It is very much a two inch lift for sure.
At the end of the day i am very happy with it, night and day difference off road.

Wow, I missed the updated to this thread. Terrain Tamer Parabolic's stateside, what a time to be alive! Really curious to hear real-world (non-sponsored) feedback on them. Since deciding to keep my 62 leaf sprung, I've been trying to figure out the best combination of spring/shocks/bushings/hardware to get a comfortable ride on-road without losing off road capability.

Also running TT Parabolics now on the 61.
Aside from tires, this is the single best upgrade ive done in a while.
I´ll update my thread later on, had them on for a couple months now, soon doing them for another client.

Heavy metal from Australia to Northern Norway, big day! The ceo made sure there was no scorpions, gators, mates, buggas and such amongst this AUS steel. Terrain Tamer did a pretty job on theese.
