I got my motor/trans/t-case in my 40 today ! everything fit it all looks like it will work out fine. I now have to get a crossmember in there to hold the trans/t-case up. I read someplace that 6 degree angle backward tilt is the right way to do it...is this correct ? Anyone have a crossmember they want to sell ?

Acording to the AA guide it is 3-5 degrees tilt toowards the rear. You can get a magnetic angle finder at your local Home Depot to measure this. It is also useful for castor angles and pinion flange angles for drive shaft calculations. Good luck. hope this helps.
