There is a slight progress, but I got a delay on some parts, so I have to slowed down.
I'm going to go to the shop next week to work on some details and will shoot some pictures to post up the progress so far.

Some Updates.

Engine ECM went into the Land Cruiser Glove Compartment. Seemed to me as its the best and safest place to put engine computer.

I dedicated separate Fuse Block for the Engine Computer and controls. I placed it beside my accessory fuse block. I have very good experience with Blue Sea fuse boxes in the past as they are small and very friendly to use ones.

As originally my 40-series had a transfer case parking brake and its was gone with old transfer case I had to find a way to put new Parking Brake.
In my case I have Pick-Up Transfer Case, so I decided to look if any options are available for this type of TC. I found one manufactured by All-Pro. Its designed for 4Runner (1st Gen) and Pick-Up trucks for that time period and should holf FJ40 well as well.
So I called Inchworm and ordered that Parking Brake kit.

Most of the engine work been done at this point from placing perspective, so I've tried to put the body panels back and see how it fits.
Fenders are back in place as well as the Bib.

Aprons and Hood placed back. Everything is closing.

On inside the cover went back, fuel tank mounted and seat rails are bolted back.

View on the shifters from above. I'm a tall guy of over 6' and every vehicle I'm in, I push the seat fully backward. Because of that shifter placement is critical for me, so I can operate it without pulling the back from the seat back.

One of the major concerns I had is to keep the ground clearance, so nothings hangs down too low. Based on what I have come out with, I think its a good way to go.

Engine is much shorter then original 2F, but its wider and not that much of a space now available on the side of the engine. To get a better weight distribution and not to interfear with cooling lines and radiator as well as the fan the engine was strategically places on the rear of the engine bay.

As my vehicle originally didn't had coolant bottle and 5VZ-FE requires one, I've decided to put one in. After some search and considerations between choosing OEM one from FJ40, FJ60 or Tacoma, I opted to install a Universal one as it has nice design and can be fitted in slim spaces. I went with Moroso bottle which is vented and has a drain on the bottom in case I'd need to drain a bottle.

Looks good. The 5VZ is designed to sit at close to a 5* angle. Maybe it is just the pictures but your set up looks like more than that.:meh: I was able to keep my t-case above the frame rails with it at 5*.

What did you do for a fuel pump?

Are you going to run a catalytic converter or a O2 simulator?

I actually never measured the angle of the engine.
As for the fuel pump, I'm using in-line MSD unit.

Sitting pretty high up on the front springs now. Got a plan?

Yes, 5VZ-FE is much ligther engine and R150F is lighter then 4-speed. I'm guessing I have gained 2".
Springs are for sale. I have other plans.

UPDATE:

Had a first test drive on the driveway past weekend. There are several small bugs to fix, but in general its good.

The 40 is back on my driveway.
Drives great. The temperature gauge run a bit high, but it maybe an incompatible gauge. Will check with ScanGauge which should come to my place later this week.
I'm happy with the swap. Inchworm transfer case gives really good off-road performance with 4.7 gears. It crawls like a tractor.
