I saw previews of “Land of the Lost” Friday and there is a red/white early 55 in the previews. It looks like the same one that was used in “Knocked Up”. I remember as a kid how excited I was when “Lost Boys” came out and they had an FJ55 just like ours. And then there was the 50 first dates red/white 55 too. Has anyone ever seen another color combo in films? The old beasts have so much character that obviously some movie producers think they should be captured on film. It is too bad that there aren't more fine examples still around.

ive only seen the ones already mentioned. all red/white combo's. not sure why hollywood doesnt choose other colours...maybe the red/white just looks best on film or suited the subject best.

...and in "The Mist" (best supporting role for a '55 to date), it was red & white. But faded.

Probably the same 55 in those newer movies. I sold a car to a company that supplies cars to movie studios called Pixxcars. they bought a VW Ghia convertble that I had for a new Susan Sarandon movie. It was a robin's egg blue one that will be featured in the movie that is coming out in April or May of this year.

I think that same 55 was in the 40 First Dates movie too. They lease the cars for a huge amount of money per day. More than buying the car itself but the studio doesnt deal with insurance, upkeep, repairs, etc.

Knocked up

Edit: Repeat, just noticed it was said in the first post.

The :princess: noticed this the last time time we watched Knocked Up, but in a few shots you can see a 55 parked in the background of the house.

Hmm, in Slow Burn they were handcranking the engine, and it kicked back on the guy... :hhmm: heh heh heh:D

Movie Cars

Check out a place called Cinema Vehicles. This company has 2 FJ55's used for the movies. There is a red/white one that looks similar. They have an amazing inventory of vehicles.

50 first dates has a red and white pig in. Looks like they used the same one in knocked up. Should make a thread of how many times this 55 has been seen in movies

Sticking with the red white combo.... At the end of Deja vu with danziel Washington, you can see a pig on the ferry

I don't remember a Pig in Lost Boys. But I have not seen that flick in forever...

We have a famous Pig in our ranks - Elyse LC has a '73 Pig that was in the 2001 film "Sweet"!

I just saw this Pig last night. Scorcher is working his resto magic on it: https://forum.ih8mud.com/fj55-iron-pig-preservation-society/285185-project-moviestar.html
