In the near future I will be replacing the 2F engine in my 1984 FJ60 with a V8 gasoline engine. I currently have a 4-speed manual transmission, but I plan to replace it with a 5-speed manual transmission.

Any ideas on where to purchase a 5-speed manual transmission that will fit into my vehicle and can be installed with the least trouble? The vehicle is located in Michigan but I would be interested in having a new transmission shipped.

Thank you.

The Toyota H55 will mate up to your T-case but will require an adapter, most likely a Mark's bellhousing adapter from AA that will cost quite a bit. Or you can do the NV4500 that will bolt directly to the motor (although you may still need to buy a bellhousing from AA) and use an adapter to the T-case. One more step would be what I did and that is swapping the motor, trans, T-case and rear axle for GM stuff and avoid adapters all together.
