30 days...

How many of you guys taking a RTT? just curious.. Just got mine mounted up.. made some homemade load bars and they worked great..

I have 3 more wrenching weekends to prepare and we dont even have the final 2/3rds of our trip planned....shyt.

My trucks already out there and has an RTT. My trailer also has one, so I'm probably not going to even open the rooftop one!

So far I'm doing the drive on my own (still waiting on a couple of friends who wanted to come along) so I'm debating wether or not I bring it!
Would be a very minimalist packing if I'm by myself. Still trying to finish up some projects prior to the trip - lights, rack, dual battery, drawers and fluids.

Not really the correct section to ask this but wanted to check with those attending to get some feedback!
I haven't got my license yet but wanted to buy a cheap hand held ham to bring over just to listen wile on the trails during HIH. I do have my cb in the truck btw. Found this one on amazon with a lot of happy people, what say you guys out there with hams? Get it or am I just waisting $?

List Price $108 - Amazon prime $31 Or is there some other better option that wont break the bank?

That handheld is the best bang for your $. It will work great for HIL..

How many spots are open now? Are we still full?

...via IH8MUD app

In theory, we have 2 spots now open due to recent events. Any potential attendees will need to contact us via email to get registered.

I'd do it. You could even operate it if you had a licensed ham as a control operator/at the control point. Fancy way of saying a chaperone!

^ needs its own zip code :D

We did a dry run of our rtt..next the shower tent.

Is everyone using CB? Do I need a ham or 2m? Not very common out here on the east, but I don't want to miss out on the witty banter over the airwaves!

In an email I saw the simplex frequency that will be used what is the repeater in the area that can be used ?
I'm new to the ham thing and I want to make sure I get them saved in the radio.

We are getting really close to HIH 4. Thanks again guys for getting signed up and doing what it takes to get your truck ready for a few days on the trail. When you have the right stuff, it really can be more enjoyable. If you haven't checked out www.100sinthehills.com lately, I would suggest checking out the sponsor page. All great sponsors that will lead to the best raffle yet. Support your HIH sponsors as you build your rigs for HIH and beyond. Thanks!!

That sponsor page looks a lot like the front page of my last credit card statement!

Many thanks to @sleeoffroad for getting my setup with the ARB front locker and 63qt fridge.

Many thanks to @gamiviti for hooking me up with an expo rack that will be delivered to the event. Hopefully there's time in the schedule for an impromptu rack install in the camping area.
