Hello @77fj40JV. I need to know where I can get one of these security pins with the button on top. Can you tell what it’s called and where I can get one?

Nice truck :steer:

Pins can be found here:

I tried to post a direct link to the exact pins but my computer skills are lacking :meh:

Click the link above, click quick release pins and scroll down on the right to knob grip super corrosion resistant pins.

I’m more of a visual person. Could you send some pictures of the wiring please? Thanks

Sure, I'll get some later today when I'm outside.

Here you go @cims1970fj40

Eight photos so I will spread them over two posts.

My license plate light (cheap aftermarket light; just wanted to be barely legal and I thought the stock bracket and lights were way too big and clunky for the 4Plus basket):

Back side of plate/inside the basket:

Where the light wires enter the wheel well, in between the little reflector and the sheet metal cup for the taillight assembly:

Different view of the same:

Inside the wheel well, showing again where the wires come between the taillight cup and the rear quarter sheet metal lip:

Where my wires enter the top of the wheel well, into the rear cab, where they connect into the stock harness wrires.

It's been a long time since I did this - I don't remember now why I put them through that captured nut. Maybe the bolt was already broken/missing? You could also go through that existing grommet in the lower left of the photo:

Couple of notes:

You want to run the wires very near the pivot point of the basket swing-arm, so that the basket can swing fully without stretching or stressing the wires.

I also ran some coax for a cb antenna (that mounts on the lip of the basket - you can see the mount in the first photo) through the same plastic conduit and routing as the wires. I also did pretty much the same thing, on the other (spare tire) swing-out; ran antenna coax for a ham radio in a similar fashion as this side.

Thanks for taking the time to do that! My harness for the plate is on the drivers side so I’ll have to run it to the passenger side.
