what size are those? look nice on the pro whites

cheers mate, they are 33x12.5 r15. with -26 backspacing on the rims.

aside from looking very cool, do they do much for the ride quality? heavy to turn? you have PS right?

thanks, yep i reckon that they make the ride heaps better. i had 10.5 width rubber on there before these and i felt every imperfection in the road. now, with another 15 psi in the new ones, i just seem to glide over the road heaps better. great traction as well. i have a 60 series power steering set-up waiting to go on, so no power steering yet. but i can tell you that when driving or moving i wouldn't be able to tell the difference. car parks and the like are bad with 5.5 width rubber so....

only thing is that they do scrape the steering arm on the factory manual steering setup when fully locked and a little bit flexed. that will be no problem when i get my 60 stuff on. hope that helps, let me know if i can do anything more for you.

cheers

rebuilt the PTO drive box...

installed the early 2h power steering capable engine bracket..... normally $200, mine was $50

the 12H-T came from a Sahara auto, so will need to be made good for the manual trans. the engine has 400000km's on it but recently had the bottom end redone, and it runs perfectly. this came out of a HJ61 that was in a rollover, so battery acid split on it, no biggie though. overall, really happy.

Been absent 47, but so much has happened! Looks good mate! Good to see it all mudded up!

now thats an engine!

so, about 3 weeks ago, i decided that it was time to install my 60 series power steering setup because the manual stuff is seriously shot. i had all the parts that i thought i needed, an early 60 2h 6 bolt pattern p/s pump and the bracket (super super rare) that it came with. 70 steering rods, 60 steering damper, 60 p/s box and 70 intermediate shaft. my idea was to get it done over 2 weekends, because it's my daily and i need it. so, Friday night, off comes the fender, battery tray and all the manual stuff. radiator down to the radiator shop to get modded so that it would clear the p/s pump. sweet. all happening so smoothly.

Saturday, i picked up my radiator and fitted her up. next i went to bolt on my p/s pump, and it bolted up just fine. so next, i went to measure the pulley length that i would need to run the p/s pump. then bam. a HJ47 2h has no 3rd harmonic balancer pulley slot. my p/s pump was the right one, but the bracket clearly not, as it lined up with what would be a 3rd harmonic balancer pulley slot. Absolutely no hope of ever possibly finding the right bracket to make the p/s pump work. so.... what should i do? well seeing as i had it lying around.....

and in 2 weekends, i had a lovely 12ht running and driving and back with the old manual steering setup because i could not wait to drive it.:):D:rofl: how ironic! only thing though, it has no exhaust.:p:rofl:

the great pity with doing that so soon is that i didn't even have time to decrease the 12ht before i installed it. please don't look at all the oil stains @76 FJ40 :cautious::)

and again, my phone does not take the best pics sorry.

Enjoy the 12ht, I need to get mine painted so I can again.
thanks, i will can't wait to see yours painted.
Very nice! How do you like the 12HT?
the 12ht is awesome. it pulls like an absolute train and sounds wicked at the same time. on one hill the 2h only had 90km/h in her, on the same hill i can pull 115 and she had more. so good. can't wait for the exhaust though. a little loud of the;) dump pipe. i will put the boost up to 12 or so psi sometime and compare the results. oh, and did i mention the whistle?

sooo... and unfortunate update:cry:.

well, after 3 years of fun with the old girl, it has become time to move her on:cry::cry:. this is a really hard decision because i have spend lots of $$$ and blood sweat and tears on the old girl but, i realised that i can't afford to keep her. i'm only an 18 year old apprentice builder, and as you could probably imagine, it is a rather expensive upkeep. mainly though, i don't have enough money to get the body done which, really needs doing before it starts to rust. also, a 40 doesn't make the worlds best daily driver, and i need one for my job. i have no hesitation, that i will end up with another 40 one day, because as we all know, they are awesome. she's not sold yet but i have had a fair amount of interest and people come to me that would like to buy it and take it to a good home. however, if you are interested please PM me.

however....... i shall not be going cruiser less:). the replacement at this stage will be a HZJ75 which is sure to keep the fire burning. i'll probably down the track, 1hd-t it:D, which will be fun. but ........ down the track. also, i will definitely visit the 40 page often, and maybe chime in every now and again. so who likes some pics?
