is the engine sitting in there real low? do you have clearance for your front driveshaft and front axle? Loolks pretty low in the pics?

It looks lower than it is because of a 2" body lift but his truck is also spring over axle so clearance isn't an issue.

Maybe I missed it somewhere along the line and if so, my apologies. But what is the weight on the 454 compared tot he original engine?

ANy idea what you'd expect in fuel consumpltion comapred to the original?

Also, whart are the torque numbers?

Thats a cool swap:beer:

According to everything I found the 2f weighs about 100 pounds more than the 454. I figure ill probably get about 10 - 12 MPG which is what I got with the 2f. I figure ballpark it should have around 250 HP and about 375 ft lbs of torque, those are common numbers for that motor in the mid 70s.

I've been waiting like 3 months for my roundeyes to come. When I ordered them they were backordered. They finally came today. We got the 14 bolt rear in place about a week ago. Finally got around to ordering a driveshaft this morning too. They said it would be about a week and a half.

Today I just spent most of my time cleaning things up and hooking the front back up. I painted the grill and put the front back together finally. I basically copied what everyone with a white spring over 60 does. Blacked out the grill and painted the logo. I'm actually nearing finishing the swap. As soon as my driveshaft is made I will be back in business since the accident a few months back. Then I have to build a bumper...

This things been about 2 hours and a trip to the exhaust shop away from being done for about 3 months. He did test drive it once so it does run and drive but its just got the manifolds on it. All it really needs is the exhaust and a couple minor tweaks.

Kurtis speaks the truth. Basically to sum things up my land cruiser got done, I drove it, got pulled over for noise, parked it in the garage, and never finished the exhaust. It has probably been sitting in there for 2 months now. I have the mufflers and the muffler shop down the road said they would do it for $200, I just haven't taken it down there. After I parked it I got a little addicted to call of duty black ops, then we built an rc track in my backyard so I got a little sidetracked. The exhaust needs to be finished though, so I should probably get on that.

you'll never believe it, but after about 8 or 9 months of sitting in my driveway/garage, i took my landcruiser to an exhaust shop and had the exhaust made up.

True dual setup with two mufflers and two cats. 2.5 pipe throughout. It sounds ridiculously amazing. You can't beat the sounds of a chevy v8 with dual exhaust.

Holy s***, progress! When are you going to be driving it, or better yet, when are you going to post a video of you driving it?

Looking good man:cool:

As soon as the rtv dries on the dipstick tube I'll bring my video camera along for a test drive. This thing is going to be ridiculously bad ass and pretty much indestructible in 2wd. I can't believe how nice and smooth the carbed bb starts and runs.

no traction bar?

It won't be indestructable in 2wd..

I took out the old tach since I won't be using it anyway and put a temp gauge in where it used to go.

I agree......looks really low.

All my swaps I have had just have enough clearance to shut my hood..Not to mention a "TON' of room from my axle to the oil pan.

Have a pic of the underside front axle???

It looks extra low because of a 2" body lift. It is lower than normal due to the 205 being a monster. Plenty of clearance though not close to being an issue. Pg# 6 shows a picture of the clearance before final mounting and it has even more than that pic now.
