never seen it broken down, the total production958-70's) for the US was posted in the 25 forum the other day though

I would guess at around 1000 45LV sold in the US........but that just a wild ass guess.

prolly a few times that # for other 45's

From a bb post from Rick D. Mikesta has the letter posted on his site www.fjtoys.com

" I am trying to compile frame numbers and production years to get a solid grasp on the North American population of 45 wagons. I know from the dealer parts manual that production fro the fj43 frames (pre 1968) ran from 10,001 to 29,000+. These included all pickup, wagon etc. models worldwide. As for the US, the earliest is a 1963 at 14,088 sold recently by TLC in Oxnard and Don Roht owns the last at 29,964."

So where does my frame # 3-fj45-13512 leave me.

So where does my 63 shorty at 13358 put ME?

63' swb - 350 / scout II power steering (hides under wheel well unlike saginaw box out in front)

My 45lwb pu is newer than the 29,900's. Maybe rick is talking about 45lv's in the quote above where he mentions the actual vin numbers...

My pickup is in the 30,300 range.

Georg and Rodney aka Bull is working on the 45 registry and I'll host it on root45 as soon as it is completed. We won't have actual production numbers but we will know if we went over the estimates. Plus we can confirm if vin numbers fit into some kind of order.

The quote from Rick d. refers to "FJ43" frame numbers. Is that a typo, or what does it mean in reference to this discussion.

data relates to 45 WAGONS only.

the parts books show for ALL 45's (pick ups included) #1 had frame XFJ4510001

****according to the parts manuals**** you cannot have a = or < XFJ4510000 in either a 45 pick up or wagon.

the earliest WAGON IN THE US at the time of that printing was the 14,088 at TLC. I have never seen a prefixed "3" (3FJ45xxxxx) wagon without a factory denso heater. I learned since that a 33,000+/- wagon existed in Australia.

I had data on the US delivery of 45's floating around 5 years ago but sadly now I don't.

I knew a lot about wagons and never focused on pick-ups.

john h. may be right at 1,000 wagons delivered. I have seen photos of the Long Beach yard with 100+ tan long wheel base pick ups sitting ready for distribution circa 1967 so there are a ton of them. That was one ship's delivery.

here's a conundrum:

the LV I just picked up has a frame # 3-FJ45-13517, but the body has a # FJ45-22645 the title uses the body #
