Asking $43,985 OBO (Willing to trade for 2008 & above Land Cruiser)
Thinking about a new rig? My beloved 1997 70-Series Toyota Land Cruiser Troopy is looking for its next adventure, and it could be yours! These HZJ75s are global legends for a reason they simply don't quit.
This isn't just any Land Cruiser; it's a highly sought-after left-hand drive HZJ75 model, featuring a 5-speed manual transmission, true 4-wheel drive, and the famously reliable 4.2L diesel 6-cylinder engine.
One of the best parts? This Troopy comes with a clean U.S. title, so you can skip the complicated import process and the new 25% Tax . It's currently registered here in Florida.
Meticulously Cared For & Extensively Upgraded
I've poured significant care and investment into this truck. It received a full exterior repaint and interior refresh, and I've added essential practical touches like a snorkel intake and a fully functional A/C system (a must-have in Florida!).
Over 2023 and 2024, no expense was spared in ensuring this Troopy is mechanically sound and comfortable. I have photos, and videos to back up every improvement!
Recent Major Refresh & Key Upgrades Include:
Drivetrain & Engine: Complete diesel injection pump overhaul (all new seals), full clutch assembly (plate, disc, pump, vacuum), new radiator, fresh engine and differential oils, all essential filters (diesel, oil), and new engine warmers. All injectors are OEM new.
Brakes & Suspension: High-end front and rear brakes (pads, rotors, hoses), new front bearings, seals, and manual lockers for robust off-road performance.
Electrical & Lighting: All new wiring, fuses, alternator belts, new battery, new front and rear light fixtures (blinkers, stop lights), and bright new 4x4 front halogen lights.
Comfort & Convenience: Brand new, professionally installed air conditioning system (yes, it blows cold!), a modern Pioneer touchscreen radio with new front speakers, a new front windshield.
Exterior & Tires: Professional rust removal and a full paint job, striking new 16-inch custom rims wrapped in new LT265/75/R16 tires, a new chrome front fixture, new original side mirrors, and new front door gaskets.
Interior Refresh: A clean new interior carpet and upholstery, plus a new front plastic speedometer dash for a refreshed cabin feel.
Condition & Included Items
With approximately 163,000 miles (262,000 km), this truck has tons of life ahead. Like any vehicle of this age, it has a few minor quirks, which I want to be transparent about:
Some door seals could benefit from replacement soon.
It comfortably seats 11 adults.
Anticipate limited internal luggage space (a common trait for Troopys, often solved with a roof rack).
There's a minor power steering reservoir gasket leak.
Minor scratches are present on the hood, and the window tint has some scratches and bubbles.
Some expected surface corrosion is present on underbody components. (Florida Vehicle) -has never seen snow!
Please note, the tires have 2016 date codes despite being new when installed during the restoration.
This sale includes 1 key, a tool kit, spare oil and fuel filters, a fire extinguisher, and 2 spare tires.
This 70-Series Troopy isn't just a truck; it's an opportunity to own an iconic, go-anywhere vehicle that truly stands out. It's been meticulously gone through and is ready for its next chapter of adventures.
If you're genuinely interested and want to learn more, shoot me a message! I'm happy to answer any questions you have.

note-It was going to be my personal overlander, unfortunately I found out my 12-year-old daughter is allergic to everything (including bugs/insects)- I have to become a hotelqueen !

Sorry...I don't know my Toyota diesels and can't really tell from the video. Is this the 1HZ or 1HD (turbo) diesel? Thanks

Where the striking new custom wheels installed after the pictures were taken?
The ones in the picture look like old original split rims.
And the horn button looks top notch.
I will stop there !

Oh come on , name me one person that can resist a cruiser with a exhaust completely painted with undercoating ;-)

One fuel tank. Interesting.
Most of the troopies have only one tank . Dual tanks where region specific as standard or optional . My hzj75 has dual tanks because it is ex NGO and therefore it’s also a 12 volt version instead of 24 volt .

I’ve officially sold my truck.
Thanks to everyone who shared their thoughts—both the good and the bad. I know it wasn’t perfect, but it carried a lot of great memories with it.

Appreciate the ride, and the journey.

Much love,
Love #Jesus!
🚘🙏
