Hey all, Collin here. I am a Bozeman native who went to MSU and got a job here. I like wrenching, trail rides, hikes, and have been infatuated with abandoned mines for as long as I can remember. Since many old two-tracks around here lead to mines, I am excited to explore!
I am currently driving and fixing my grandpa's red 86 4runner, and will hopefully get a 3rd gen runner soon.

I like electronics, so if you guys have any problems/ideas like LED controllers, radios, and such, let me know.

Howdy everyone! My name is Chris and I live in Belgrade. I'm originally from Florida (8th generation Florida Cracker, family has been in the state before it was a state), have lived in Brazil for 3 years and now beautiful Montana since February 2015. While I don't have a Toyota, I respect the vehicle and it's reputation. I have a 2001 Land Rover Discovery 2 and contrary to the jokes about LR, she's reliable (knock on wood). I guess I blame my father for my love of British automobiles. He had various cars over the years ('64 Jaguar XKE, '54 MG TD, Austin Healey Sprite, MG Midget, Triumph Spitfire) and when I saw the famed Camel Trophy competitions and those Land Rover Discovery and Defender trucks forging their way through the Amazon, Tanzania, Mongolia, etc. I was hooked! One day I would own one. Looking forward to making new friends here and getting out on the trails and exploring this great state!

Even with all the poking fun at the meetings, I think we can all agree the Camel Trophy Rovers were an inspiration for many and I will admit I lust over older Land Rovers. And nobody could blame your British habit with a car lineup like that...

I'm originally from the Outer Banks of North Carolina but moved back to the Bozeman area from Hawaii about a year ago. I look forward to joining you all more often at the meetings and hopefully trail rides. Currently, I'm working weekends so we will see how that goes. At the last meeting someone was looking for shop space. Sorry, I can't remember who it was. If anyone needs space for a long weekend to a week let me know and we can work something out. Plenty of space.

I'm planning on being out that way for the month November. I'm not sure if I'm going to drive the 60 or my Tundra. Leaning towards the Tundra right now.

Hey everyone,

My name is Johnny and I will be moving to Bozeman in August. I found out this past Monday that I've been accepted into the Mechanical Engineering program at MSU so I will be relocating up there. Originally grew up in the Bay Area California (I know... horrible place commiefornia. Will never move back) and moved to Fort Collins, Colorado for school and have been in Colorado the last two years. I cannot finish my degree at CSU and this is what is prompting my move.

My whole family is into cruisers (Dad has a 60 which has been converted to a 1HZ-T diesel by Valley Hybrids on 33's soon to be on 37's, Mom has an 80 on 35's and stock 100, Brother has an 80 on 35's) and I too have caught the cruiser bug and I am heavily involved with the local chapter of the TLCA here in Fort Collins and look forward to be coming part of the 406 Cruisers. I know no one in the area so I look forward to wheeling and getting to know you guys. I drive a built 80 series and I am into over-landing and harder things like running the Rubicon in California which i'll be doing again this summer.

So this year one of the runs at Rubithon is "The Pryor's Wagon Run"... I'm one of the Pryor's leading all the wagons through! Next year will be year 2 of the Pryor's wagon run and I'll be there for sure helping my dad again and it would be awesome to have some Montana guys

Hi guys and gals. My name is Gene and I'm from Helena. 1966 FJ40 born in Japan raised for 48 years in Bozeman. I purchased it from the second owner who said he actually test drove it off the lot with his friend in 1966. Friend couldn't afford it and sold it to him in 1969. When I got it from the older gentleman in Bozeman it had 78k miles on it. Mechanically, it ran like a top... Body was in rough shape to the point where the spare tire was dangling by the top support only. Bottom rear sill was completely rusted out and the rear wheel wells were fiberglassed up. I cut it up into a bunch of pieces, thank goodness found a decent loaner tub from a '62 (same body style) and did a 3/4 body tub swap. Sand blasted everything. I've updated the center steering arm to the cone style we all know, changed the shock tower tab position on the axle because my 2.5" lift got in the way of my main steering drag link. I fabricated a heavy duty new rear sill and added a lot of extra metal in the rear so I could have the option later to mount... Something...? Updated to a twin master brake cylinder, replaced all new brake and steering components, converted 3 on the tree to an H42 four on the floor, electronic ignition, brand new steering box... New lights etc.. I'm sure there's more but I just wanted to introduce myself and rig to Mud. I put a lot of blood sweat and tears into her and many more to come. I know of at least one other person who would want to go. This year would prob not work as my summer is pretty much schelduled out already. Next year for sure. When do people generaly do it? Winter trip?

It would have to be summer time. It usually closes in December due to snow and opens around April/may to people with buggies and large tires. This year it was the end of May but no one had gotten through all of it until mid June. A jeep got stuck back in December and they found it in May after digging 15 feet down just to reach the roof... It's located in the Tahoe area so they get quite a bit of snow
