I've got a 73 FJ40 renovated with power steering. I no longer need the huge stock wheel. and though I know it's like blasphemy to do this, I want to swap it for a Momo Indy heritage wood wheel. I've always wanted a Momo wheel and now that I have power steering, I dont need the big stock wheel to yank the steering around. I'm keeping the stock one tho...

my question is about adapters.i cant seem to get an definitive answer whether the GRANT 4579 adapter works for a 73. I found a 3 hole (grant) to 6 hole (momo) adapter but would rather just do a one piece from column to wheel.

any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

cheers

If you go with a wheel from a different series Land Cruiser you wont need an adapter. I found this one on E bay.

My ‘75 had a Grant wooden wheel on it when I first bought it. Power steering with the smaller wheel is a good feel but I reverted back. The adapter on mine was the standard splined hockey puck and the wheel was attached to it and this bolts covered by the center horn button. The Adapter was the 4579…

It’s the only photo I have with the wooden wheel…sorry

My 69’ had a typical Grant adapter to a simple Grant wheel, but I took that column out under current remodel.
