Look at White Knuckle Off Road sliders. They are bolt on and you can get a flatter version to use as a running board. They are about $1K by the time you get done, but they are 100% bolt-on and do not cause any irreversible work to your truck to install.Yeah that's the running board. They are crusty to say the least. Replacing those. Not sure with what. I want to keep it stock as possible.
Are they the only game in town for Bolt On Sliders? Yeah I'd prefer bolt on.Look at White Knuckle Off Road sliders. They are bolt on and you can get a flatter version to use as a running board. No, there are others, but they seem to be the ones most end up with. Do some research on here about sliders and figure out what you want. They are more than just "nerf bars"....... The $1000 is for the heavy-duty version, painted. There are ways to reduce the cost. Are they the only game in town for Bolt On Sliders? Yeah I'd prefer bolt on.
Theres a few leaks but other than that everything is well! They appear to be easy to work on. I'm a novice but I know my way around a wrench. Being on here helps!Welcome to the club! I'm just starting diving into my 80 repairs and it's honestly a great time working on these vehicles. Enjoy!
Thank you very much! I'll be sure not to do that haha.Great find, congratulations on the purchase! I just found mine a few months ago, same color as yours but a 94. It was so nice and clean especially on the inside that I want to keep it stock as well. Make sure you go underneath and check and torque your caliper bolts and drive shaft bolts. One of my caliper bolts came completely out, luckily I was close to home. One more very important word of advice that quite a few 80 newbies seem to make is removing the VAF sensor for cleaning. DON'T DO IT! Those two little screws are soooo tempting to remove, but don't do it, trust me!
Got new tires and wheels today

Have heard nothing but good things about them.Slee step sliders are pretty slick. Look almost factory. Probably more coin than others but I'm happy with em.
Took less than a week!Much better!![]()

It will cost you $500 any a serious amount of time to find a replacement while your truck mimics a boat anchor. Why what happens?
The 93 and 94 version is the one that is the problem child with the AFM/VAF/MAF whatever the hell it's called.Pretty certain his being a 95 he can remove the two screws cause that's all that's holding the MAF in place.
Yes, from the pictures posted a 95+ dash. No VAF, only a MAF.
looking at the harness side of the connector a stainless lock pin is pretty obvious
Not so obvious as I would guess we are averaging one or more members, new and old, that take that connector off each week. Compounded by there are also many posts the use the identifier MAF incorrectly when the device is a VAF on the 93-94. There is benefit to using a spray cleaner on a MAF but trying to spray a VAF accomplishes nothing but there are a large number of people suggesting to do so.
