looks great, what are you useing for castor correction

Nice Ben! You throw some meat on there, and eventually 1.5" wheel spacers sometime down the road, and your rig will look killer man. Rides nice I bet eh?

Good for you!

Thanks guys, the lift went on with a few friends in about 4 hours. That included making brackets for the swaybar and brake lines. NO caster correction at the moment  but it's not bad in town. On the interstate at 75mph...hmmm I'd be a tad worried. I'm waiting for a set of Slee's caster arms to show up....BLING

No vibes at the moment and she rides great! Firm feeling, not harsh, handles dips great. The tires should go on this week. YAY!!!! The 285's are a bit small, even tho they don't look "horrible"

here's some pics of the drops we made, got the ideas from TOOLS R US on the board... all seems well. I'm not saying this is for everyone but seems to work for me. Was made out of 3/16" strap and 2" square 1/4" wall tube for the front swaybar. i ditched the rear swaybar.

What size thread are the sway bar drop bolts? I'm guessing 60 or 70 mm in length?

I have some 2" by 1/4" sitting in the corner of the garage, and I'm going to need sway bar drops here pretty soon. Yours look as good as any, though a coat of paint might be a good idea.

boots...LOL...they are shiny...don't want my latte's falling leaving stains...polished boots resist latte's better! :flipoff2:

Walking eagle:

I belive they are 80mm...the 70mm might have just barely gone in, although I think they would have worked. And paint ;p they are painted flat black, just have dirty handprints on them. They seem to be working fine. I haven't really gone out and flexed the crap out of it yet as I don't have my bumpstops in. They still need longer bolts.

I went with 2"/ 1/4" on the swaybar drops and the bumpstops.

What is the advantage to using the Js in the back instead of the 4" Slee springs?

Harry, I'm around and have a similar setup so I'll throw my answer in the mix. Springs are usually mated for an 80 loaded with bumpers and gear. If you don't have your rig decked out in armor and lots of gear then by mixing springs (Slee 4's with OME 863/J's for ex) you gain a practically level stance.

I for one always hated the stinkbug stance! My current setup has a subtle rear high stance which a spare and some gear would settle.

I may be wrong, but I'm under the impression that on a light rig Slee 4's all around would be rear high .. requiring you space out the front. I'd rather be (nearly) level and be pure coils.

Peace,

TY

So any issues with vibration? (by the way she looks gorgeous Im hoping to follow your footsteps sometime this month) cheers

Ty nailed it, I'm running the rear tire carrier and thats about it. My 3rd row seats are coming out and I doubt for a while that i'll be putting in drawer systems. No extra fuel tanks or roof rack, so i'm considered "light" i would guess. I'm 1/2" ~3/4" higher in the rear and I'd imagine once it settles I'll be level, then add a winch and I'm back to nearly level.

As for right now I don't have any vibrations...Now if Schott's rides in it then maybe he could find some :flipoff2: ...this would be due to the "no caster correction" I don't find it *that* bad...feels closer to how my lifted 55 drove so maybe thats why it doesn't seem that bad to me. The arms should fix my caster and continue my "vibration free lifestyle" I can't stand when my starbucks gets vibrated and settles out the foam :D

The steering feels a bit "light" up front and slightly darty but not deathtrap uncontrollable by anymeans. So far I would HIGHLY reccomend this setup. Seems perfect for 315's....I'll report more after the caster correction...

You will like thos tires.

Looks great Ben. When you get a chance could you measure the rear from hub to flare. With my Slee 4" the rear is about 1 3/4" taller than the front. Just wanted to know the difference.
