just finished the lift install yesterday..super swamper tsl radials are getting put on as i type! the install was very easy, i didnt have one frozen bolt or bushing the whole time! the only thing that was weird is that my front left shock rubs on the steering rod.. im going to call hell creek on tuesday to see what they say. 4.5 hours start to finish.

does anyone know how to get rid of my new driveline vibrations? i think i read that heavy duty greasable shackles might do the trick.

That looks awesome:clap:. I love the shot of the tires "posing" on the truck. What size TSL radials?

Is that your yard?

A 4" lift can change your pinion and caster angles. I put 4 degree steel shims in front axle, to correct caster related steering issues. Some people also put them on the rear axle as well.
Good luck

they are 33" tires.
yes that is my yard.

in regards to the shims- so shims would only correct steering issues or also the vibrations? because there are no steering problems besides the slight rub which i cannot feel when steering.

I used the stock drive shafts with my 4in HC lift with no vibration issues. You may have worn u-joints that are more apparent now that you have increased the driveline angle.

Have your u-joints been greased recently?

Double check that your driveshafts are in phase, if you seperated them at any point during the lift install. I too had to do CC shims in the front after a 4" sua lift.

I installed the same lift 3 mo ago. I had the same driveline vibrations. The reason for this is that the pinion caster angle gets thrown out of alignment. Hell Creek uses a round spring where other springs have a flattened out section in the middle such as OME. This flat spot helps preserve your angle most of the time.

I installed a 4' steel shims in back and 3' in front (stay away from the aluminum, they will wear out) and my vibrations went away. You should check your front castor you are probably in the negative numbers. Meaning that you can steer too easily, and your rig has a tendency to follow lines or ruts in the road. Any positive number in front is what you really want, I believe factory spec is somewhere around +3'.

As for the rubbing, I would check to see if your front bearings have any play.

Looks good man. Makes me want to do the same lift on mine. What width are your tires? I am looking to get the 33 x 9.50 or 10.50s. Lift looks good on the mustard yeller.... makes me not want to change the color on mine.

I know the springs are new and all but...... your shackle angles suck:eek:

It looks like they are straight up and down front and rear.....

Other than that, good looking cruiser:clap:

x2 on your good looking truck. The early version of HC 4" lift springs had an extremely poor shackle angle. Here's one of the threads.

I was told that Hell Creek had modified their original spring design in order to correct the poor shackle angle. From the photos it still doesn't appear that the springs are long enough. Hopefully they'll relax over time and your angle will improve. If not, I'd request new springs. I know that they have replaced several suspensions for that reason.

Hell Creek springs have had a flat section where they meet the axle for over a year now.

Did you just get these springs or have you had them for a while?

Flex them and they will relax a little and your shackle angles will improve and the ride will improve as well.

I used 4 degree shims due to my longer shackles.

Keep us posted.

On my BDS 4 inch lift my steering rod hit my shock. BDS had a note in the installation instructions to bend the rod slightly to miss the shock. Not much of a fix but I did it on mine, bent it about 1/4 inch and it misses the shock now.

i have been taking it off road almost every day so hopefully it will settle a bit

Nope. +1 degree stock.

I would start with rust repair! It does look sooo much better.

For vibration, ditto on the driveshaft phase suggestion but you may also want to buy an angle finder and measure both surfaces where the driveshafts bolt up. With a standard driveshaft (non Double Cardan) these two angles need to be the same to avoid vibration.
