Most of the 315/75/16 tires I have seen the spec sheets on claim to have between 598 and 605 revolutions per mile.
4th gear in a 343 is .753 to 1 so that makes it ~2,756 RPM at 75 mph in OD, with a locked converter..
i run 4.38s in my truck and have 38.5 boggers i wouldnt want to put lower gears cause i have plenty of power and i wouldnt want the rpms to be higher. im at 3000 rpm doing 55 miles an hour. a lower gear would be rediculous.
this doesn't compute for me, anyone else?
Do you get any wining noise with those gears and what brand crown and pinion did u go forThey'll be fine. I run 5.29s on 35's and drive from Seattle to Moab, no problems.

I haven't installed them yet but I'll report back once they're in. I can't imagine they'd be whiny, is this a thing you've heard about? Are they noisy at all or quiet as the stock gears
Iv installed nitro gears and all new bearings and it was noisy so i changet to another brand motive gears and they were better but you notice a little bit of a wine . Thinking about going back to standard gears now as i really dont want to keep buying diffrent gearsSome of the best conversations come from Old School long-term 80 series owners.
