There was a lot of interest in the previous group buys. So much so that Nick had 5people contact him after he sold out the last group buy

https://forum.ih8mud.com/100-series-cruisers/485994-2nd-group-buy-dt-headers.html

EDIT: They changed the material for the headers from the previous group buys
They noticed an issue with a different set of headers that it got hotter than expected, but still within its design limites. They want to continually enhance their product

they are switching to Stainless Steel 304, which Nick says is the best there is
1) Long term durability is improved
2) They won't rust . . .ever
3) They will retain heat better

He said those that have headers have a lifetime warranty and there shouldn't be any issues, but if there are they will take care of it

The Dealer cost for these will be $681. He said for THIS GROUP BUY he will do $600 plus shipping.

I told him we would have everyone get back with him and validate they are still interested and provide their credit card.

He estimated delivery around 6 weeks, so I would plan on 8

Details of the previous design are in the link

There is also a thread on a dyno test being done to get data to show before and after results

Post up if you want to be in the 3rd group buy. Need atleast 15:bounce:

Remember these headers are for the 98-05 model years.

Really depends on a couple things for me.

1st - I need a job So.... timing
2nd - what the dyno test show if anything. I dont currently NEED them. But, I will one day need a new exhaust system. Mine looks pretty rusted. So, I may be interested in installing them when that day comes. If the Dyno test show significant improvements, then it would be a no brainer.

I would guess a shop would charge b/w $300 and $500 to install both headers, depending on the hourly rate for labor. It sounds like about a "5 hour job" for somebody with good tools who knows what they're doing.

Powderpig jsut did Tim's and said it took him 5 hours. Use that as an estimate with shop rates

edit: what marshotel said :D

I'm in the process of installing the DT headers to replace a passenger side cracked manifold (Passenger side DT is on). I"m very happy with the result, but got to thinking - has anyone tried installing the 06-07 headers on 98-2005? They appear to have been redesigned for better performance. I'm guessing they're not ceramic coated and there's no benefit with pricing, but you probably can get them quicker if you're in a pinch to replace a cracked manifold. Just a thought.

Pending some good dyno results, i'd be in!

Do not need them (165.000 miles, no ticking)
But, The truck could be my working car again in few month and then be used more (2000 miles/ month) than it is now (6000 miles/year)
If yes, I'll be in.

i will be on the list if they cant find the last set they thought they had. Been two weeks and I am not feeling good, so wanted to start this to get it going because I definitely want a set

You'll need them after you see the performance results this week. :D

Just finished getting the DTs on yesterday - what a piece of art they are. Every hundy should have a set. BTW I did not have to remove the steering linkage to get the driver's side on. I wanted to , but the rusty splines were not going to allow it. Can't wait for the results.

I'm in for a set

I'm in for a set. I was one of the people that email Nick to see if I could get in the 2nd group buy.

Me does.

Where do i sign up or who do i call?
What is the group buy pricing and what is the expected wait time til they would be shipped?

he said $560 a set if we get 15 folks. Once Nick is ready we can contacvt him directly with your card, but lets wait till we get enough. I'll talk to him tomorrow
